Re: Parabolic springs anyone?
If anyone is interested I may convert back to stock style springs. My mission with this truck has changed and the Parabolics are just not suitable anymore. PM me if you’re interested.

Re: C303 Front sway bar for parabolics
Funny you say that!! I actually ran around like that for months before I put the backs in. It does handle well in that configuration. Probably a good setup for someone that loads up a ton of gear. Another option could be replace the bump stops with air bags I suppose. I may actually go with 2.5” air...

Re: C303 Front sway bar for parabolics
I did, and I have an alternate solution for that as well, but a traction bar won’t cure body roll. The truck was borderline unsafe due to the low spring rates of “broken in” 2 leaf parabolics. I could certainly increase the dampening of the shocks, but again that’s not a solution either as the amoun...

C303 Front sway bar for parabolics
Just thought I would post this for anyone interested. I have found my 2 leaf parabolics to be excessively soft after working them fairly hard. My truck has excessive body roll that just makes it uncomfortable to drive regularly. And since my C303 is just short of my daily driver I had to make a chan...

Re: CO Intrusion in Cabin
Be careful trusting the CO meter. I have one in my plane and if I put it in certain spots in the cabin it goes off all the time. In fact it was reporting “deadly” amounts, not just sleepy amounts but deadly amounts near my windshield pillar. But 10” back on the window it was in the green all the tim...

Re: 4WD electronics
I will say the brake system kicking in 4wd is a genius setup and it could save you and your truck. Currently mine is disabled via an easy reversible setup under the dash. I’m starting to lean towards helping it active after one or two near misses.

Re: Power Steering Conversion
So first, I’m running the PS pump that comes on the Cummins R2.8. So my setup is hugely unique. Second, it would likely be easier if you PM’d me and I can text pics of anything you need. On that note, I will say I spent just shy of a week in Moab with the truck over EJS and the steering did very ver...

Re: Air Conditioning Planning
Just FYI, you can run an electric power steering pump to solve a lot of this. I’m not talking electric assist steering but a true power steering pump. I forget what they came in, but they are out there.

Re: Shocks
Don’t waste your money on Fox. I have owned Fox, Bilstein, sway a way and many others. They will not help on the Volvo. Try the Gabriel’s for as cheap as they are and see what you think. They are an insane value considering their performance. Keep in mind they are oversized bodies so they handle a l...

Re: Shocks
Final follow up, I took the Volvo out to Moab all last week with the new Gabriel’s. Final conclusion is they worked exceptionally well. I think the length could be a bit longer for what I was doing, but in all reality they were perfect. I did everything from high speed dirt roads to reasonably hard ...

Re: Shocks
Just a follow up, I have the rear shocks installed and they do not require any modifications like the front. The shock can be installed with the full shroud. Because my truck is not loaded in the back I went with the softest setting. This gives me a very balanced feel so far. I might consider droppi...

Re: Yellowed Back and Side Glass
I replaced all mine with tempered glass. Even has the tempered stamp on it for DOT. It’s pretty easy and reasonably cost effective. Just look up a local glass company and tell them what you need. Don’t tell them it’s for a vehicle, just tell them you need stamped tempered glass and give them the exa...

Re: Help me identify
Awesome collectors item for sure. But not the same caliber as a C303.

Re: C303....tgb11
Not many, these are rare trucks to begin with. I do t recal how may C303’s were made but it was a very low number relative to just about anything else. So with that, there are likely only maybe 100 in the USA maybe. Possibly more possibly less but I’m trying to be conservative on both sides. I I had...

Re: Electric power steering conversion
Hydro assist is the only way in my opinion. My buddy did an electric and he likes it ok, but it’s been a bit of trouble for him. Hydro is just sooo reliable. You can get an electric hydro pump made for cars, but I would skip that idea personally. And after seeing what my buddy had to do and others f...
