*** SOLD *** 1971 Pinzgauer 710K radio truck for sale
*** SOLD *** Here's one for the East Coast Pinzgauer enthusiasts! I bought this Pinz a couple of years ago from another member of this board who lives locally. The truck was running rough when I bought it, but everything else was working fine otherwise. Since then, I did a very basic tuneup (fuel f...

VERY BASIC timing questions and other probs to fix the Pinz
I've been reading the other threads about timing, etc., but haven't been able to solve my problems. Believe it or not, I've never set the timing on ANYTHING before. I went out to set the timing on my 710K for the first time today, thinking I had an idea what to do, but a few things came to mind that...

2012 Military Show/Swap Meet in Aberdeen, Maryland
For those of you on the East Coast, here's a few pictures of the recent 2012 Military Show/Swap Meet in Aberdeen, Maryland. I drove my 1971 Pinzgauer 710K to the rally, but I don't have any pictures of my Pinz. There are a few pictures of a really cool 710K w/ a BIG gun that I thought was pretty nea...

Re: Deltran 24-volt charger
Update on my electrical problems w/ new questions... I replaced the voltage regulator w/ a new one from Expedition Imports--easy job! Voltage across both batteries when the Pinz is running is 32 volts or so (still a little high [???] but WAY better than the 60-some-odd volts I was getting earlier!)....

Re: Deltran 24-volt charger
Here's what I have done since I last posted: I put a new optima red top UPPER battery in, and drove home. The next day, it wouldn't start again. I tested the voltage under different conditons, including when the starter button was being pushed (b/c someone else had a problem where voltage dropped to...

Re: Deltran 24-volt charger
After posting my initial post, I took my voltmeter out to run a few tests. Here's what I came up with: Voltmeter from x to y-----Disconnect-----Charger-----Voltage 1 to 4-----------------------OFF-------------OFF---------29.5 1 to 2-----------------------OFF-------------OFF---------14.1 3 to 4------...

Deltran 24-volt charger
I've been searching through threads on charging, but haven't found what I'm looking for... I will search for the REAL answer to my electrical problem when I have more time, but for now, I just want to hook up my Deltran 24-volt charger to my 2 Optima red top batteries. After charging them fully (ind...

Re: Sea Foam engine additive
All good advice--thanks! I have some basic maintenance stuff on order from Expedition Imports, so once I get my order, I'll do the plugs, wires, rotor, distributor cap, etc., and then I'll check into the other stuff. I'm pretty darn sure there is an exhaust leak. And as far as the vacuum leak, I'll ...

Re: Sea Foam engine additive
I know this is a 2 year old thread, but I wanted to add my experience with Sea Foam added to a full tank of gas, as well. I just recently purchased a 1971 Pinzgauer 710K from a gentleman on this board, that himself had previously purchased from another gentleman on this board years ago. From what I ...

Thanks for the advice!
All good advice! I went ahead and used the gun oil to add a couple of drops in the plastic resevoir (although it didn't occur to me that it could have slid around and no longer lines up w/ the hole--need to check that again later), also around the rod that activates the choke, and finally the 2 carb...

Sticky choke cable--what should I use to lube the cable?
As the title says, the choke cable located towards the right side front of the driver's seat is VERY sticky and doesn't want to move much anymore. I took the engine cover out to check out the cable and noticed there is a little black plastic port about midway along the length of the cable with a cap...

Tail lights
I'm not sure if this is standard, but my 712M has an ovoid slot on the bottom of the black plastic-like housing that surrounds the tail lights. It gave me enough room to push my pinky finger in there and help push the tail light out. Once the 2 screws are removed on each tail light, there is nothing...

Electrical stuff
Let’s start with the following questions. What are you planning on powering and what devices do you foresee running at the same time? For the converter, I want to add a radio and a CB radio. I also want to plug my GPS and cell phone charger into a cigarette-style receptacle. For now, that's all I s...

Time to hook up the converter, inverter, isolator (?), etc.
Ok--I know these topics have been covered elsewhere and I have done a bit of reading, but I still have questions... Here is the inverter I purchased: http://www.boatandrvaccessories.com/GP-SW1500-24 Here is the converter I purchased--part # PST-D24/12-800 which is the one all the way to the right: h...
