Any 710 owner with a tape measure!
Hello all Pinz people. I am hoping someone with a 710 soft top can help with something quite simple and will help me avoid a costly mistake. I am in need of some quick measurements of a 710. I am going to put lettering and logos on the side of my rig used for big cat research in Africa but I don't d...

Re: Brake wizard needed in Costa Rica. Maybe I'll pay your way
Hello Hotzenplotz, I finally got around to getting a photo of my master to see what I have for valves that might be wrong. Any way to tell which way they are supposed to go? And should there be two stacked on each line. Assuming that is what those are in the photo I attached. [attachment=0]IMG_3559....

Re: Brake wizard needed in Costa Rica. Maybe I'll pay your way
Hello....I am waking up the sleeping thread... Sorry for the silence. I am in the jungle in Costa Rica doing wildlife research and have limited access to internet connection. I failed at the inspection place so many times dealing with the brakes that I had to give up for now and only drive late at n...

Re: Brake wizard needed in Costa Rica. Maybe I'll pay your way
Yes, this is my system. I had the same issues before the drums were machined (but that seemed to squeak me past the inspection last year) so I guess it added just enough friction to make the computer happy. I knew it would change the geometry when machining, but decided to take a chance as a last di...

Re: Brake wizard needed in Costa Rica. Maybe I'll pay your way
Hi...Thanks folksnfor taking the time to help out...The schematic you show of the brakes is not my rig. I have one steel tube that feeds one of the front wheel cylinders and then a short steel tube that leaves that cylinder and goes to the second wheel cylinder of the same wheel. Brakes have been ad...

Re: Brake wizard needed in Costa Rica. Maybe I'll pay your way
Thanks a lot for the tip. I am hitting the trail to hike out of the jungle now to get a look and see what is up in there on that master. Man that would be so great if that is the issue. I do get some action to the rears if the pedal is pumped up so maybe that valve is an issue.. Or non existent. Tha...

Brake wizard needed in Costa Rica. Maybe I'll pay your way

My Pinz is located in Costa Rica and every year I need to pass a safety inspection the likes of nothing I have ever had to deal with anywhere else...( Russia, Africa, USA).. None of them come close.. Anyway. I just failed another 6 times in three days try...

Re: SOS...Weak brake dilemma
Hi Rmel..Thanks for the reply. Sorry for the delay. Got locked out of my own login as well. Finally got that sorted. SO, yes.. I have got it to pass inspection before, but it seems they always complain about the same weak brakes. I think they squeak me by just to get rid of me. There is no shortage ...

SOS...Weak brake dilemma
Must have read every post top bottom (and sideways) and could not find anything that seems to fit my dilemma. I have a 710 in Costa Rica that I use for accessing our remote jungle reserve chasing jaguars (4 legged kind). Once a year I drive the Pinz (El Mastadonte) on actual pavement when I have to ...

YEAH, In Costa Rica they have very tough inspection laws. Way more intense than anything in USA. Catalytic converter is mandatory. It was not a problem driving the Pinz previously, even after the new Cat was installed. Cant send any Pics as the rig is in Costa Rica and I will not be back there till ...

Red hot Catalytic converter
HELP!!! I was driving my recently purchased 73 Pinz 710 in Costa Rica and while on the hills it was seriously under powered. Felt like bad wires or plugs. The Cat was glowing RED HOT!!! I stopped on the side of the road and found one plug wire end was no good. I replaced that wire but still no good....
