Not much safety in a Haflinger

I figure it needs to happen to a few of us, simply based on probability... Somehow i flipped one of my haflingers while traveling on a normal neighborhood road... Sadly, i have no idea how, as i have complete amnesia from the incident. Tire marks show i skidded for some reason. It appears that i hav...

engine leak from block seam?

I'm cleaning up my recent Pathfinder purchase. I noticed it has a persistent oil leak from the center of the engine bottom - right at the seam. it leaks while sitting. I originally thought it was the round gasket for the sump cover. I cleaned and replaced that gasket, and the leak is still there. Th...

Just replaced it as Jim listed. A little challenging in the front. Worked out.

How do you remove the fan from the dynastarter? Anyone have a spare?

Lost a blade on the fan today. Not sure how, just suddenly made a weird noise and visual inspection showed a single blade now outside of the fan housing. I tore it off. You'ld not believe how one missing blade causes the whole vehicle to rattle. I see swiss army has spare fans. How do i remove it fr...

purchased a Pathfinder that came with tubs o' parts

and i'm curious what i can get rid of without kicking myself later. Pictures can be found here - https://photos.app.goo.gl/JtY311LDtUjAqyn86

Several heads, pistons and cylinders, clutches, cams, gears and crank shafts. Some dynamos. I have no clue on the history.

repairing a choke cable

The choke cable finally broke right before the choke mounting point of the carb. As you know, repeated tightening will tend to twist that cable at the mounting point, and mine finally broke off. Its now millimeters too short. There is not enough give to stretch the cable as its ran right now to exte...

Re: Lost compression to #1, but no clue what the issue is

How much pressure should the fill neck have when running? Should I be able to place an empty soda can on the top without it being blown off?
