Re: 'Tis the season...

The pneumatic mast is a 7.5 meter Clark QT series mast. It is hooked up to a nice electric tire compressor. It only needs 13 PSI and takes 25/30 seconds to lift to full height. In the front black PVC tubes are an Ed Fong antenna and misc HAM stuff that attach to the mast. It is a great mast from the...

Re: 710k on craigslist

Ah... California Pinzgauers... First, CARB added a$3500 fee to "new" old vehicles when arriving into our fine state. But yes, the price is a premium price. Then, in theory, CA pinzgauers need to be 1974 or older to be legit. So, if there is title/registration, awesome. The real question is, how many...

Car Top Shower - Off the shelf

Saw this on costco.com. For $120, I am not sure you could make it for less.

Re: Here we go again

Ugh.... I missed the part about tapping from center. Yes... The 24 volt Solargizer would not/will not balance out of sync batteries.

Re: Here we go again

Not wanting to hijack a thread... but for parasitic voltage drains and general battery maintenance I use the pulsetech solargizer. Works well and has a small 6" x 6" inch solar panel footprint. It does both a trickle charge and de-sulfates the battery plates. Here is my write up and install back in ...

Re: Security Alert On This Forum

I believe it is a semi false positive. A common tracking pixel called s.thebrighttag.com is in the site pages. That tag is owned by Signal. A real affiliate tracking marketing company. BUT now there is a malware in the wild of the same name made by the bad guys... not Signal. So, there is more than ...

Re: Carlsbad Auxxcom in "action"

Short answer: Connect to the Carlsbad EOC via 2m using the Palomar Mountain repeater at the top and bottom of the hour to echo any messages from the Shelter Director to EOC and viceversa. Long answer: The city of Carlsbad has its own EOC and trains all city employees on emergency and shelter managem...

It is common that the port side square panel "fails". The actual part that fails is the metal extension (that is on the side closest to the door opening that inserts down into the body) "unwields". While it does not fall out, this makes it wobbley.

Carlsbad Auxxcom in "action"

A big (read very BIG) thanks to Expedition Imports, Goatwerks, this forum, and forum members for supporting our vehicles. Here is a shot of one of our vehicles doing radio work between a evacuation shelter and the EOC. Most of the time we are just having fun with these machines... And, sometimes, th...

Vince,
I was able to grab these images from the interwebs... If they are acceptable, can an admin update the original?
