Re: New member

Hi, Welcome aboard! Below I am quoting... Besides Austrian Pinzes having fuses vs circuit breakers in the Swiss, the tail lamp setup is totally different in that the Swiss used tail lamps and combined turn/brake indicators ( also for the trailer socket). The Austrian use independent bulbs for each f...

Re: Aftermarket Soft top maker

I too, thought that Tuff River was not making pinz tops. If they are... There is no better top. All others are single sheet material. That said... my single sheet stock top lasted 30+ years. If you farm it out... there are lots of tiny details the vendor may miss... like the weep holes at the bottom...

Re: EFI on a 710M

I may have missed an earlier conversation... are you "flipping" your truck? If you are adding EFI to add value to the truck without significant other improvements ... then it is unlikely to break even. At the end of the day, for us in california, these are 46 year old vehicles. Adding EFI is really ...

Re: California Registered 1974 710-M for sale or trade

Just FYI... For anyone in California that wants a Pinz, it is EASIEST to buy one that is already registered in California. CARB (california air resources board) would like to charge newly registered CA vehicles 2 to 4k ($$$) when they come into the state. (http://real4x4forums.com/PinzgauerBBS/viewt...

Re: 1973 710K For Sale

That would be a 710M troop carrier with a hard top over the cab. The "K" is a 5 door radio truck with a hardtop over the complete vehicle.

Re: Idle Problem

Since I do not have the SSI kit installed, my order of solving (this when it happens to me) is this... Clean distributor contacts/remove moisture Check molex connector... make triple sure that all those contacts are clean and engaged. On mine it looked fine, until I removed the air shroud and then c...

Re: Engine cover sound and heat reduction

I have not realized any issues regarding heat from the engine and when still/stopped not bad regarding sound. My experience was the overall sound comes from rolling and vibration of the flat body panels. Though, during the rebuild, the interior was Linex'ed including the removable engine covering. I...

Re: Intercom

The setup on our vehicle is ITC-2004 Four Place Portable (https://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/avpages/flighttech2001enri.php, http://www.flighttech.com/index.htm) It will take 9 to 24 volts. I have plenty of 12 volt. So, it is hard wired to the 12 volt panel For headsets we watched craigslist and...

Re: 'Tis the season...

The pneumatic mast is a 7.5 meter Clark QT series mast. It is hooked up to a nice electric tire compressor. It only needs 13 PSI and takes 25/30 seconds to lift to full height. In the front black PVC tubes are an Ed Fong antenna and misc HAM stuff that attach to the mast. It is a great mast from the...

Re: 710k on craigslist

Ah... California Pinzgauers... First, CARB added a$3500 fee to "new" old vehicles when arriving into our fine state. But yes, the price is a premium price. Then, in theory, CA pinzgauers need to be 1974 or older to be legit. So, if there is title/registration, awesome. The real question is, how many...

Car Top Shower - Off the shelf

Saw this on costco.com. For $120, I am not sure you could make it for less.
