Hello,
I have tried to sum up the history of Pinzgauers in the US on my website at:
http://sdp.haflinger-4wd.com/pinzgauer/ ... er-usa.php
Any additional information and pictures would be very welcome!
Thanks and kind regards,
Constantin

Re: 3x3 Hafi owner wanted
Hey, first of all, I'd rather call it a 6x6 Haflinger... The factory never produced any 6x6 Haflingers, all which are around (even 8x8 in Indonesia) are self-made. Even the one that looks very "original" and which spent some years in USA was built in the 80s, when the production of the Haf...

Hey,
I think the picture of the 6x4 comes off my website... And I had asked Peter to scan it for me...
Peter, you'd be very welcome to scan the other photos as well... very interesting pics!
Kind regards,
Constantin

Re: Air shock absorbers
Gunipinzmutt, how did you manage to get hold of the ex Pakistani TDs and how did you manage to have them shipped to Europe? Sounds like an interesting story... Could you report a little bit? :) I have also heard about these vehicles and I do have some historic pictures. Do you know of other vehicles...

Re: What have I bought ? Building a Haflinger ex Royal Navy
Hi there, yes, the body looks like a civilian Haflinger to me (with typical equipment like hood sticks, rear side boards etc.). Also it appears that there are two front seats with guard plates behind them. The chassis cannot be seen very well in the pictures. If it does not have the brackets for the...

Re: What have I bought ? Building a Haflinger ex Royal Navy
Hi there,
well done so far! The title of this topic says "Royal Navy Haflinger" - I don't think that this is a RN Haf, but do you have one of these as well?
Regards,
Constantin

Re: If I buy a Hafflinger, what am I getting myself into?
Hello Dave, Jim mentioned my page about the Haflinger history in USA above. I'd be really interested to learn more about your contacts in Texas. It would be another step forward to learn some things about Haflinger sales in Houston! Could you try to find out more? And maybe your man also has some pi...

Re: Unleaded Fuel
I have read discussions about this several times in different forums and it seems noone can give a proper answer. Personally, I would add additive to make sure nothing gets damaged, even if it is a slow or very slow process and might not happen anyway.
Kind regards,
Constantin

Re: New Member - Canberra Australia
Hello Garry, the chassis number is on the right side of the gearbox housing, have a look at: http://www.haflinger-4wd.com/offtopic/HaflingerNumbers.pdf According to Barry Jones, not all Haflingers had a compliance plate. Only the younger Hafs had it and there it also depends on the State in Australi...

Re: New Member - Canberra Australia
Hello Garry, I already saw your Haflinger on eBay - congratulations! I was recently in contact with a man from Canberra who is restoring an ex Australian Army Haflinger - do you already know each other? The u-shaped members under the front seats (and also on the upper side of the engine bay) are not...

Re: Here she is so far (Pics)
Certainly a very nice Haflinger, looks rust-free! Appears you gave it a new finish, because the last time I saw that vehicle, it was still green.

Constantin

Re: Which one is original NA Pathfinder bumper?
Hi there, yes, this sounds correct to me, except that I haven't ever seen 4/71 so far. It appears that the next younger ones after the 3/71 are 10/71, 11/71 and 12/71. Then comes 4/72, but these vehicles already mix up with Haflingers which stayed "at home" for local sale. Kind regards, Co...

Re: Which one is original NA Pathfinder bumper?
Hi, The bumper which is shown e.g. in the picture with the red Haflinger and in the pictures from the Puch Museum is a younger version. The other bumper style is an older version, which was also used on some other civilian Haflinger versions e.g. in Europe. It appears to me that Pathfinder marked 3/...

I am 79.5" tall and I love driving the Haflinger! I cannot sit perfectly straight, but it works fine for me.
