Re: Testing rev limiter

Does the 4500 light ever come on? I thought I read somewhere that it will light up during start up but mine doesn't. Mine has never illuminated.

Re: Pinzgauer tour company promo video:

Here is a quick (and cheap) promo video for my tour company in Telluride, Colorado. I figured that the guys and gals on this forum might like to see it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MxTrRrzp5Kk Do you drive the vehicles? I was up there this past July and I swear I passed that Yellow Pinz. I was g...

Furthermore, this entire topic is about a Viair compressor. One that is NOT case common. The entire argument is moot and off-topic. I talked to Viair this morning and tech support said that the case weren't isolated and the possiblity of a case grounding was there, if the housing came in contact wi...

Fleq, The relevance of this discussion seemed to be with regard to operating a 12v compressor (of unknown ground) on the Pinzgauer, using one 12v battery. The topic WAS Using 12v Viair Compressor with 24v Pinz . EXACTLY, the topic of this thread is using a 12V VIAIR compressor on a 24V system. A Vi...

What has been said is if a 12v device is connected to the "upper" battery, and the chassis of the device ( assuming it's housing is grounded) comes in contact with the vehicle chassis, you will have 24v going to it, and you have smoke released. Plain and simple. Furthermore, this entire t...

No, Undysworld is correct: if the compressor negative terminal is also the compressor chassis, and if the chassis is connected to the truck chassis, then the lower battery (the one that has it's negative connected the the truck chassis) will be shorted; certain to fry the negative compressor wire a...

Turns out the car parts store next door stocks this stuff and he has many customers that swear by it. I bought a bottle and will pour it in the tank and report back. I know a lot of people who swear by the stuff but I've never used it or never seen the results directly. Always been curious about it...

True, EXCEPT. What I'm trying to warn folks about is that if you do this, and you hook to the battery which is not chassis grounded , an electrical disparity will exist between the compressor ground and the truck's ground. This means that if you then touch that compressor to the truck's chassis, sp...

This thread is rapidly getting confusing without pictures. As I understand it: Even if you hook direct to the battery (both + and - terminals) using the battery who's "-" terminal is at the battery-to-battery connection (as opposed to the battery who's "-" terminal goes to chass...

I think Jim's assuming that the compressor negative gets chassis grounded, so if you hook the positive to one batt. you get 12v, and if you hook to the other it would be 24v. Otherwise, if you hook directly (+ & -) to the first batt. (the one which - does not go to chassis ground), and accident...

Fleg, I imagine it would be faster when you supply 24v to it.
