Re: AUX Heater in a K model
How would one go about disconnecting permanently the fuel hose that goes to the heater? I am concerned that I might have a small fuel leak there, and don't plan on ever using the heater.

Re: limit engine/exhaust smells in the vehicle?
Gasoline: Change both gaskets on the fuel tank (fuel pickup and sender). They are cork, but you can make them yourself from a thick inner tube.
Exhaust: If the heat exchanger is shot you should notice the difference when you are blowing hot air into the cabin versus when you are not.

Re: Trick to installing rubber door stops?
Good question. I've bought some myself because they were missing but haven't installed them. My driver's door used to rattle, but a friend bent it to shape.

Re: 710k radio set on craigs list 1k
From what I understand, the radios and VIC-1 intercom system are bulky and heavy. The radios are useless as Ham, since they were made for the 30-76 Mhz military band. You also need a commercial license to operate them. That said, they really look cool, and if I could get a set I would for that price...

Maybe you need to earth the fuel sender and get a new speedo wire. Most things in the pinz are easy fixes. Do a search.

Re: Dropping the gas tank
OK, so since i couldn't find an appropriate tool to extract the bottle I decided on dropping the tank. Fairly easy, as mentioned. Bonus: finding additionally a spigot that screws on the end of the spare gas can filling tube. This spigot reduces the diameter of the flexible tube and was there rolling...

Re: Dropping the gas tank
OK, Shawn, I will do as you recommend and replace the gaskets, thank you. I have yet to find red particles in the fuel filter, but you never know. Good time to give the tank a good wash, too, I guess.

Dropping the gas tank
Gentlemen, yesterday as I was about to fill up the tank with gas I dropped the gas treatment plastic container through the tank filler tube (yes, I know you shouldn't do that). I've searched for a description on the operation to take down the tank but have not found one. I can see four bolts holding...

Re: Rear interior 710K Pics?
The plate that goes on the floor held a portable petrol generator. The frame that goes on the left is a little wider than the wheel well, and the one that goes on the right is flush with it. That area of my K is unbolted, but I'll take a pic and try to post it this weekend.

I ordered some parts Tuesday afternoon and I already have them, and I live in Costa Rica and have to go through a forwarder in Miami. Talk about efficiency.

Re: self-explanatory levers......
Haven't been able to find a SIG semi-auto or even a Steyr, which I understand fit perfectly in the stock brackets and look smashing. And now I have to start looking for the camo balls.
