Re: Some updates on my C303, Hello from WA

Hey, Max! Glad to see you got to keep the Volvo, I had thought you sold it and was sad to hear it. In some bizarre twist of fate, I think I may have just moved in nearby you - Port Orchard, WA. I think I may have the original mechanical fan and all the joints for it in boxes here somewhere, I'll see...

Re: Fat Fabrications c303 body restoration.

On the one hand, I'm so impressed my jaw is on the floor. On the other hand, I'm sobbing openly because I know that's whats awaiting me when I do the frame-off on my 304. Thats really interesting how you mounted the cage using the existing rub rail spots. I hadn't considered that. Is it strong enoug...

Cooling/Heating system questions

Hoya, guys! Got a question on the cooling/heating system on a C303/304: I stopped getting heat to the front heater (99% sure it's the adjustable valve that the rotating knob on the dashboard controls - I think I've located where it is, and the hose going to it is warm, the hose going beyond it is no...

Re: Miles Pinz Restoration Progress (pic heavy-milestone thr

Miles, My jaw is on the freaking floor. I am severely impressed. One question: With extending the spare out like that, are you at all worried you'll tweak the rear door hinges by putting excess weight/torque on them? By the way, You're the one to blame for me getting interested in a 6x6 Pinzgauer in...

Re: Replacment steering wheel

sup.

I was never able to find an exact match for it. Someone else sent me an original steering wheel, and then later on I wound up cutting the "magical silver spaceship" steering wheel, and drilling and tapping the boss to accept a standard bolt-on steering wheel.

Sorry.

It'll put the lead in your pencil :)
Will us poor Volvo guys be invited? :D

Haha. I'll be there soon - we're planning on moving to the Duvall area in a year or two. Driving the C304 from Denver to there should be an adventure. :D

#9, or 10/11 depending on if your 303 is commerical (12v) or military (24v).

Re: considering conversion of c303 to electric...

Don't take this the wrong way (any of you) but I'd think a Pinzgauer would be the better suited vehicle to convert to electric. Smaller, lighter IIRC, and an even lower horsepower engine, and there's lots of em around. :D

Re: New guy calling, about to grab my first c303....some Q's

Sixbennets: As I understand it, so long as you run the higher octane fuel, you can get away with no additive - the additive just raises the octane. The whole problem is leaded fuel was a very high octane fuel, and as you go down in octane, you get more of a chance of pre-detonation, which would dama...

Re: New guy calling, about to grab my first c303....some Q's

Hello! i can help answer some of the questions here but not all. 1: These are rare vehicles, and not many people seriously consider owning them, or believe it's just too far outside the mainstream to be able to reasonably own and operate. I've seen this truck around a bit as well and haven't seen an...

Re: Hot Box!

Ahh, yeah there should be plenty of room for a large fan up front as well. I'm going to swap out the water pump first but a custom radiator wouldn't be a bad idea, there's a number of shops around here that can do it, I've just never had anyone do a custom rad before. :) Concerned about getting ever...

Re: Hot Box!

The military models are often just that way. The radiators are thinner than the civil ones and they do run hot in those conditions. I'd do the flush and if it happens again, run your heaters (303's have two) during the climb as they act just like external radiators. The best solution is a custom ra...
