You've got the tank killer, right? Eleven-eleven? Does it have a heater there like the 111C?

Re: A true 24 volt battery?
Well, after a long discussion with a patient, friendly guy named Scott at: http://www.sbsbattery.com/index.php it seems there is no such animal. He's been in the business for 40 years and has never heard of such a thing. He did offer to build a couple custom batteries for me, but they'd be costly. H...

Re: A true 24 volt battery?
Chris, that's exactly what I'm getting at. Still 2 batteries, still both in the same rack, but 1 is the starting battery, the other is for the camp accessories. Both are charged from the alternator. The standard alternator on these is what, 65 amps? The guy I bought my truck from threw in for free a...

Re: A true 24 volt battery?
That says 12 volt in the product specs, but 24 in the title. Wonder which it really is. I'll call, thanks, they look like they could answer some of my questions.

A true 24 volt battery?
Ok, has anybody seen such a thing? We all have 2 12 volts in the rack, for a total of 24, but does a similar sized 24 volt exist, in the amps we need? I'd like to have a single start battery and a house battery in the same stock location. (Space will be at a premium). I'll be using a 12/24/110 fridg...

Thanks, Christer. If you know of a picture of these lights, can you post it please. I'd like to see them.

Re: Transmission slipping out of gear.
Christer, this was about another truck I was considering long ago. I passed on it. The truck I did buy from Coatex AB is shifting perfectly.
But thanks for your input on the subject. Hopefully someone else will benefit from your knowledge.

Re: Sourcing a 24V starter
Email Mr. Joacim Halling at Coatex AB in Malmo Sweden. I bought my Tgb11 from him. He can get anything you need at a reasonable price.

Re: Cold start problems-technique?
If the there was a problem with that, wouldn't it affect how it ran all the time? When it's warm, it runs like a brand new car. When it's above °20F or so, it starts like one. It's just a cold start issue. I need to find somebody locally that can show me how to care for and tune/balance these carbs,...

Re: Cold start problems-technique?
Yup, same thing in the Volvo manual, too. Thanks, Ed. Been doing that all along, just didn't say so. I *think* the secret seems to be barely touching the fuel pedal a tiny bit at a time until it warms up to that point where it smooths out. There's no WAY the truck can be driven at all until it's com...

Re: Cold start problems-technique?
With the choke at anything but fully pulled out, it won't start. Has to be all the way out. What worked this morning was no throttle for a couple minutes while it chugged, then I could just barely touch it, a tiny bit at a time, bringing the RPMs up slowly over the course of 5 minutes. If I pushed t...

Re: Cold start problems-technique?
It's stock Zenith Stromberg carburated. I was hoping not to have to touch them. Sounds like real voodoo.

Cold start problems-technique?
Okay, truck has a new engine, not even broken in yet. At temps above 10°F it starts every time, no problem. Anything below that is hit or miss, probably depending on my technique. When the truck is warmed up, it purrs like a kitten. Smooth idle, plenty of power, no skips or backfires. Perfect. Plent...
