Another axle boot post.
Ok, here we go again. I took the pinz today to the mechanic to have him go over it once more before getting it 100% ready to be shipped to south america. Once he was under it looking for any leaks or abnormalities, he found a cut on the front drivers side boot, It is not wide open but there is a cut...

Re: How much flex is normal on the front limiting straps?
I installed all four doetsch shocks today. The rear shocks were easy to change. Top and bottom bolts came out pretty easy, the only thing that was a little tough was fitting the bolts through the shock spacers inside the bushings, it was a really tight fit but yet again maybe thats how they are supp...

Re: How much flex is normal on the front limiting straps?
Is there any specific amount of torque that needs to be applied to the shock bolts? I just got my doetsch shocks in today and want to make sure my mechanic applies the right amount of torque to the bolts. I'll post some pictures of the new shocks tomorrow night.

Re: How much flex is normal on the front limiting straps?
Thank you for the replies. Do you guys think the new shock absorbers might help with that? I went ahead and measured the front springs and they are at 10' 3/8. I dont know if someone knows how much they should measure on normal conditions. If you guys think I should not worry that is all I needed to...

Re: How much flex is normal on the front limiting straps?
Both my front wheels are almost leveled. The top surfaces of the tires are slightly outward but its almost nothing. Both front schocks need to be changed, the left one is leaking.

Can someone please post some pictures showing normal flex of the front limiting straps? I would like to see that in order to find out if I need front springs as well.

Re: How to change front shocks?
Take out the seats and the dog house. It's in there. Yeah, Scott from E.I. explained it to me when I ordered the Doetsch shocks. Cant wait to put them on. I went through all the shocks and there are two leaking. And they are the originals, dont seem to have been changed ever. So there should be an ...

Aftermarket Shock Absorber Poll for Pinzgauers
I have not seen a poll about aftermarket shocks provided online by different pinzgauer parts dealers. I am including the following: Rancho RS5000 being sold by Swiss Army Vehicles. http://www.pinzgauer.com Rancho RS9000 being sold by Cold War Remarketing. http://www.coldwarremarketing.com Doetsch Sh...

Re: New Pinzgauer 710M (valve cover gaskets)
I am located in Dallas, Tx. Thanks, it is a great running pinz. The person I got it from took really good care of it. I believe he got it from Linden about 8 or 9 years ago. Dennis worked on it, and he went through it before I purchased it. Both Dennis from linden and the gentlemen I bought it from ...

Re: New Pinzgauer 710M (valve cover gaskets)
Yes, I should have separated the posts. I just thought it would be more practical to write a post about both of my problems. The Rancho RS5000 I have seen where from http://www.pinzgauer.com . I just finished changing the valve cover gaskets. It took me about 3 hours. I dont know if thats normal or ...

Does anyone know the bolt measurement on the valve cover heads? I have to purchase some tools and torque wrench.
