Re: 710K antenna mount caps?

Has anyone come up with a solution to flush-capping the 710K top antenna mount? I put the standard cap on mine but thinking about a rack project, I would like to flush cap mine and I think there is zero need to put the antenna back on. The Marine-Grade Moisture-Resistant Polyethylene (HDPE) looks go...

Re: 710K roof rack

They're out of stock on G racks. I sent them a note but they read email once per week.

That's the beauty of their design- Make it longer, shorter, add a huge array of stuff that bolts onto it and wont fly off, no bungees or bullshit, and far stronger than they look.. and its extruded aluminum so no rust, ever!
Sounds like the perfect and re-configurable solution.

Re: 710K roof rack

Nice. I wonder what can be done over the cab and hatch. Does look factory indeed, probabably better/lighter.

Is that a bone stock g-wagen rack?

710K roof rack

I'd still like to find an original K roof rack if anyone knows where one can be had. Alternatively I'm looking for a low profile rack for my K for very light duty stuff. Not particularly high so I can get into my parking spot. Probably rig it with some form of heat barrier for the summer to keep the...

Re: PinzFDS now available

Talked to Rick over the weekend and finished the install. Ground the mounting slightly to fit the unit on the existing mechanical pump studs and adjusted the regulator to about 2.5psi. The hardest part of the install was getting the motor lift bracket off, but even that was not difficult if you had ...

Re: PinzFDS now available

I am giving this FDS kit a try (guinea pig mode here) and had a couple of questions that the directions don't cover. Sent a PM to Rick but he's apparently not near email. 1. Looking at the mounting area, it there the pump's tappet guide. I am presuming you leave this in place and mount the plate on ...

Re: PinzFDS now available

If you drive the Pinz daily or even weekly, the old pump works fine and you'll probably never notice the need. If not, this is a great solution, saving wear and tear on your starter and probably your batteries too. The PinzSSI improved my starting when the carbs were full. I think it is a great opti...

Re: Wanted: 712K Pinz

A relatively nice Austrian rehab 712K just went for (gulp) $36,250 on BaT, and I think it was the same one that went for $22K 6 months before. I want one too but never seem to catch one at $22k, the lowest I have seen one trade for in a long time.

Re: Airpod Pro (or other) for phone calls?

Works for me: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01LZAG265 The price seems to be about 40% higher now than when I bought mine. In my experience, aviation headsets and intercoms also work fine but new is expensive, ebay is not much better. Some intercoms have phone interface capability. I have a 4-pl...

In all seriousness, not as cheap as a plastic bag but for pop-up trail duty with a zip tie?

I have used this a number of times. Maybe luck but every time it's worked out well and at a reasonable cost.

Re: Gas heater debug

I had problems until the gas line was replaced. You could hear the small pump tick away in the rf wheel well. Behind the shield in the wheel well the old line had become porous and allowed air in, making the suction pump suck air instead of fuel. Not porous enough to show any fuel leak. Most common ...
