Re: Wanted: 712K Pinz

A relatively nice Austrian rehab 712K just went for (gulp) $36,250 on BaT, and I think it was the same one that went for $22K 6 months before. I want one too but never seem to catch one at $22k, the lowest I have seen one trade for in a long time.

Re: Airpod Pro (or other) for phone calls?

Works for me: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01LZAG265 The price seems to be about 40% higher now than when I bought mine. In my experience, aviation headsets and intercoms also work fine but new is expensive, ebay is not much better. Some intercoms have phone interface capability. I have a 4-pl...

In all seriousness, not as cheap as a plastic bag but for pop-up trail duty with a zip tie?

Try the Uship app...
I have used this a number of times. Maybe luck but every time it's worked out well and at a reasonable cost.

Re: Gas heater debug

I had problems until the gas line was replaced. You could hear the small pump tick away in the rf wheel well. Behind the shield in the wheel well the old line had become porous and allowed air in, making the suction pump suck air instead of fuel. Not porous enough to show any fuel leak. Most common ...

Re: Fan Nut Threading

The first time I removed mine I had to use a little butterfly air wrench as it fit nicely in the space. The nut was a bit rounded when I got the truck. A couple of short blips and it was free and correct since.

I figure the Austrian military kid that last tightened it had a lot more muscle than me.

Re: Adapter plates for 2-1/16" gauges into 60mm holes?

A multifunction monitor is my plan -- it's just not top of my list quite yet. But please think about what you'd want to see, and watch for me to start another thread on this topic. I'm an airplane person, so engines want to be monitored. :) My challenge is to do something that is functional, but no...

You should do it soon, and document it so I can follow someone else's lead. Take pictures too if you can.
I wish I had a lot of free time, but it doesn't work out that way these days. It's been on my list for a month and will hopefully get done within the same future window.

Alas.

Please post up anything you find out. The blank hole on mine needs to be filled but a tach on the pinz seems, well, pretty unnecessary if you have ears.

Anything else interesting/easy to install, maybe some multifunction monitoring, would be of interest to me.

Re: Turn signal switch smoking

I have the JW Speakers and all the bits to do a swap on mine sitting in the garage awaiting a peaceful day without interruptions to do the conversion. This is on an Austrian rehab pinz with the big TD 5-segment lights, so I am anticipating some fun along the way completing this project. These will l...

Re: 710K map-reading lamps

Probably have to trace that blue light wire back.

Mine's Austrian but the blue/white function works fine when the doors open.

I don't have the Austrian articulating lamps (been looking for those forever with no luck) so it is only the overheads.

Re: Impact wrench questions....

IDK what your specific use case is, but for my needs air impact is fine and works ok with a small compressor for what I do. I limit impact to removing/loosening stuck bolts/nuts that may have been over torqued or damaged. Since this is typically a short blip or two, a small compressor and a butterfl...

I’ve been chatting with the guy that got it for 22,000. He got a steal!
Hoping he has buyer's remorse so I can come rescue it

I stopped subscribing to the daily BAT feed and blew it on this one.

Re: WANTED: Clean Pinz 712K or 718K in the USA

All of the fresh ones are probably going to be Austrian rehabs, and that's probably what you'd want to start with, if I'm honest. I am glad I did not see that 712K for $22K on BAT or my wife would probably have kicked me out of the house. That was a nice buy most likely and exactly in the condition ...
