Re: Timing on Pertronix

I just found a spring in the box where I kept my Pertronix. I have a feeling that it should’ve been installed when I replaced PinzSSI with Pertronix last weekend. Where does the spring go?

Re: Timing on Pertronix

Thanks. I have 2.0. Admittedly, I didn’t check the input voltage, but I think the new regulator/voltage converter is more forgiving than v1.0. I don’t have any reason to believe my voltage was low, but again, I didn’t check. The truck had no problem turning over and idling, just no power. Also, I fo...

Timing on Pertronix

I’ve searched the forum for a little guidance on this, but thought I’d ask it in a way I can understand... I’ve had PnizSSI for about two years and it has generally ran well. It suddenly stopped running well (no power under load). After much troubleshooting of timing, fuel delivery, replacing plugs,...

Battery switch relay

Hi, I found an after market relay in my battery box. I think I tracked the trigger for it down to the blue wire on the regulator plug. The schematic actually refers to this relay (#45 - Relay to Battery Main Switch), but mine is clearly after market. Does anyone else have a relay in their battery bo...

Plasti dip the pinz?

I did a couple of searches on the topic and was surprised that it hasn’t come up more often, or if it did I wasn’t searching for the right thing.

Have folks successfully Plasti dipped their Pinzs? Any feedback, advice, pix, etc?

I’m contemplating it

Thanks!

Re: Broken engine mounts

Thanks for the advice, folks! The project went relatively well. I’m only able to find two mount points. I replaced both. I see the engine diagram that shows a third at the back of the engine, but I can’t seem to identify it while I’m down there. My bottle jack with a 2x6 wood block did the job on th...

Re: Broken engine mounts

Indeed it was. Once I identified the broken mounts I immediately printed this diagram. I’m just trying to wrap my arms completely around the repair and what I’m potentially getting myself into

Broken engine mounts

Hi, I got a little too ambitious off-roading during the Rocky Mountain Pinzgauer Treffen this summer and I think I busted my engine mounts. After hitting the under side of my truck pretty violently on a rock I noticed that my idle was increasing on its own. It wasn't until I was back home and attemp...

Re: Installing a digital tach with PinzSSI 2.0

This is great stuff folks, thanks for sharing! Ron, would you be willing to share what you spent for the VDO and reducer option? Nice !! I also installed a Tach on PinzSSI 2.0. However, I opened up the wire loom and tapped the +12V Switched output of the DCDC so that the Tach only goes on when the i...

Re: Oil pressure switch ?

Thank you! Dumb question, what does it do? I assume that it's simply a sensor to drive the light on the dash. Correct?
