If you have managed to get a set, then get them copied - a metal fabrication shop is likely to charge you less then what you are going to pay for a set of "original" doors if you can find another set. They have become very rare.

I am not sure that ordinary solder / plumbers solder will have enough mechanical strength - might work a couple of times, but it will fail very soon after you have done the repair.
