Re: New Volvo c304 owner new engine swap/ camp rig project
https://www.facebook.com/200188306750341/posts/1664675606968263/ Have you had any progress finding a controller for the om608? Check out dieselmeken on Facebook...they're doing an om648 superturbo in partnership with industrial injection diesel performance SLC, USA. Apparently they are running their...

I just stumbled across this pic of said cab mounted roof rack so I thought I'd add it.

Re: New Volvo c304 owner new engine swap/ camp rig project
Nice build plan, right up my alley. Have you checked out Ole's transmission controller? https://ofgear.dk/. Its well priced compared to the PCM controllers and I think it sounds like the better of the two. I must admit I am curious as to why you don't just use all the required merc electronics/Ecu a...

Re: installing differential breathers
the stock vent (pictured above) on my 85 712k trans seals under slight vacuum (and very probably it's own weight)... it only vents with positive pressure. I've lost count of how many water crossings I've done that are deeper than that vent (rub rails) and there has never been any water in my Redline...

Re: RHD 718's for sale
Looks as if there's a few fellow Aussies interested in these late NZ 716/718's...as am I but as far as importing one (or more) to Australia I don't think it'll be a straightforward deal until about 2030-2033 when they become 25 years old. IIRC the approx 320 Pinzgauers purchased by NZ are built betw...

Re: Officially shopping for a Volvo C303
The one in the Terhorst link is interesting, it's got a VW 6 cyl diesel fitted...even though it's an obvious choice because of the assocation that engine has with the Volvo (240???) that's one engine ( assuming it is the D24?) I've never heard of being diesel converted into a tgb/C3OX Volvo. The ad ...

Re: So I found this in the oil pan..
Thank you "The True Pinzgauer's" that type of information (above) is priceless IMO as it generally stays in the specialist workshops it was realised in. Does Stec/Puch have a list or file (in English) of all the factory revisions over the years and that is available to the public? I recent...

Re: Can't find vaccum leak. Backfiring, missing on accelerat
For those more interested in doing the above mentioned job (pump/piston fuel volume correction & calibration) themselves, for systems that use more than one carb you will need to use a method that measures against a unit of time as well as measuring the fuel per amount of strokes...that is if yo...

Re: Can't find vaccum leak. Backfiring, missing on accelerat
Thanks Hostenplotz, Yes there are multiple techniques for calibrating pump volume, from how the OP described his problem and the steps he took to rectify it I was thinking that he/she might have missed this step when working on the carbs. I recently posted a link to "sparking plugs" websit...

I'm not surprised it got snapped up quickly at that price...you now know what to do IF happen across another 1K Pinzgauer.
This is a great place to learn about them, Happy Hunting.

Re: Pinzgauer 710
If a Pinz is in your future you need to get this asap...the spares alone would make this purchase pay off, even if only half of the driveline worked you'd still be well in front. I'm from "Down Under" and I dream of finding a "Pinz for parts" and I reckon I'd be in for 5k...1k is...

Re: Brightening Castings
To back up TechMOGogy's advice....I used a similar aluminium cleaner, BLITZ made by ChemTech, I also found it to be a waste of money...sure it did clean but no better than any degreaser and I didn't notice the "brightening" effect at all. Just wash them as best you can with whatever you've...
