The rifle mounts definitely do not fit ARs -- either the small 5.56mm or (my go-to weapon) the larger 7.62mm AR-10.
I replaced them with ATV style racks almost exactly like these:

Honestly, as many weapons as I own, I've never owned any of those variants. Nor do I have much experience shooting them.
