Re: Fuso

Had a 2012 FUSO earthcruiser, got rid of it. Nightmare as far as reliability.

Re: Haflinger doors - let me know if info needed

I am still into my "restoration" (well ... ok ... buckets of soap and water, .... and PB Blaster). The doors show very little use and look factory new. Let me know if any of you need measurements or photographs of the doors, or the door components. It would be very easy for me to do at th...

Re: curious of the wheel/tire setup here

That's a good deal. I always seem to see them for over 1.5k, guess I should start watching more. I wonder how brutal shipping is to Alaska?

Re: Are the old weber and NDIX carbs interchangeable?

Ah, got it. Sounds like a variation on the good old off idle bog. Also see that in 'mogs, VW's. Have you checked for air leaks? Accelerator pump working ok? Set idle speed and adjustments? Yet something else might be to check your distributor advance mechanism, make sure it's functioning properly - ...

From what I remember it's 0 toe, measured with two personnel in the cab.

Re: Are the old weber and NDIX carbs interchangeable?

Thank you. Wouldn't happen to know much about the weber carbs would you? Any advice for slight throttle popping? What do you mean by throttle popping? I know about the throttle off idle bog, deceleration popping is common, crummy accelerator pumps, air leaks around the butterfly shaft, flooded floa...

Re: Stock military wires have capacitance?

I know this seems crazy, and it makes no sense, but the wire was removed from the cap. It was wire and spark plug only. It arched, and I have no idea how. Maybe the valve cover is some how insulated from ground, and touching a positive wire? As the plug was coming out, it grounded through the block...

Re: Stock military wires have capacitance?

No, they don't have capacitance. I'm going with you have a short somewhere, were making contact, and that was the cause of your arc. Was your wrench anywhere close to any of the wiring on the passenger side regulator/relay/solenoid harness spaghetti?

Re: popping and stumble

Raised the float level and tremendous improvement. Almost perfect. Anyone know the weber float level spec or procedure? For the one barrel ICS? The way I've done it is take top cover off, make sure needle valve is working. Check tab on float to make sure it's smooth. Check floats to make sure they'...

Re: Hi lift jack suggestions for a haffie?

Oh yeah, capacity is un-needed. Actually, I should take a look at the product - I was talking about an expandable jack stand that he also makes. For the jacking itself, I just use the regular haf jack. OK, found it. I actually bought an earlier version of this for my RV. Found the guy that makes the...

Re: SAV 1971 Pathfinder for Sale... $30k

Taking a look at the pics, that's pretty far removed from "museum condition".

It'll be interesting to see if they get the price.

Re: Hi lift jack suggestions for a haffie?

I just use the stock jack, but sometimes I'll throw the safejack system on board.

Stock jack is plenty. But the winch aspect of a hi lift is nice, the danger part is not so nice.

Terrific find, and a good save.

I wonder where he got it rebuilt, I'm in need of the same service.
