Re: Witches hat leak

I'm a little late here, but thank you both for the replies. I finally made room in the shop to get at this...brady712k, any photos you have of how you supported things would be hugely appreciated!

Witches hat leak

I haven't dug into this at all yet, but based on the size of the puddle I'm thinking I lost most of the contents of fluid in my front diff on my 710. I'm guessing it's the witches hat seal, based on the oil coming from around the front cardan shaft housing flange. Any advice on the best approach to ...

Pinzgauer Steering Wheel Options

I know it has been discussed before....someone must know of an alternate steering wheel boss size that will fit a pinzgauer I'm not excited about chopping up my otherwise good condition pinzgauer wheel just yet, but now that i finally have power steering, i could stand to have a bit more leg room so...

Re: Cold Weather EFI Issues

In case anyone runs into this in the future, i spoke with EMS and they suggested that the post start adjustments are a percentage, so at the low cranking rpms, the fuel table is providing a rather small amount of fuel. even at 100% post start enrichment, there was probably not enough fuel. sure enou...

Re: Cold Weather EFI Issues

Right, i definitely did not tune with efficiency in mind. I used the wideband sensor for tuning and applied adjusments from 20 or so runs through rpm and vacuum ranges with the desired a/f set for somewhere near mean best power, i believe 13.3 or so. then i shaped it by hand a bit to make it smooth ...

Re: Cold Weather EFI Issues

Now the weather is not cooperating with me to test....but i am going to look into the crank sensor as soon as i get an opportunity. I did have some issues getting it to run early on, and found that the firs sensor i had was bad, but it was also not placed perfectly and i wasnt getting a good signal....

Cold Weather EFI Issues

Hi All, I have Jim L's EFI setup, and having some trouble with cold weather starting. Ive been driving it in warmer weather for a couple years, and have tuned it pretty well for those conditions. It runs great in the cold too, but only as long as i start it in the garage. i would say it starts prett...

Re: 2.7 Liter Engine w/ Torque Cam?

Call him, he can give you a price on the custom parts easily. last i knew he had at least a handful of them in stock. he sourced an EMS with custom harness and some other bits and pieces for me with only minor nagging. in all the time from pulling the trigger on the kit to having it running was abou...

Re: 2.7 Liter Engine w/ Torque Cam?

I have the Goatwerks grind on my cam, but with the generally stock 2.5 in my 710k.....you can add me to the list of believers If i can remember well enough....Jim L advised me against going to a 2.7 since my cylinders were in good shape....he said its a good upgrade if you are already forced to bore...

Re: 710 Cylinder fin rust

Thanks for the reply, yeah i saw that....and was mostly convinced. It doesnt get that hot in my neck of the woods though, so my only experience has been that the Pinz seems to run cool. I'd hate to veer too far away from the tested standards, however.

710 Cylinder fin rust

Ive got the engine out of my 710, cleaning it up and installing Jim Laguardia's cam. I've taken most everything apart at this point just to give it a thorough cleaning, even though it doesnt need a rebuild. The cylinder fins have some surface rust....does anyone have any advice on cleaning/rust prev...
