Exhaust, idle musings about mods and effects

Hi everyone Seeing as my exhaust is off I've been wondering about modifications.... So the muffler is pretty large, and I've seen some mercedes car mufflers used as a slimline alternative. Making a 2 pipe into one after the heat exchange is no problem, so the world is my oyster. Oh really, we may sa...

Re: Civilian spark plugs with pinz distributor??

Keeping the points 4x4Pinz? Old fashioned and quaint :) Nope just controlling costs for the moment, my resto is a blood, cash and time sucker. I guess I could get some HT leads and civy caps and just fab some and see how they do, or continue to run the military system. Thanks for the link and words ...

Civilian spark plugs with pinz distributor??

Hi everyone, I'm happy with the standard distributor on my 710K for the moment at least, but I'd like to get new high tension leads and use civilian plugs. What are my options here please, I've alwasy foud it a bit unsatisfactory to make my own leads for various vehicles I've had when compared to fa...

Re: Overhaul load sensing valve, how to?

Hi One to Many I've just discovered this, its a rare setup for the 710. We think it is because the particular Pinz I own had to deal with trailers with a heavy nose weight. https://www.puch.at/en/spare-parts/pinzgauer-petrol-710-712/brake-system/brake-pipes-rear-axle-ab/ The load sensing valve looks...

Overhaul load sensing valve, how to?

Hi Everyone, My 710K load sensing valve has been a little stiff, and the back brakes hard to bleed. I cant find any information / exploded diagram for the valve assembly, nor can I find info on parts to overhaul it. We've wiggled it till it has freed up but would like to pull it apart and overhaul i...

List of equivalent parts on the Web

Hu everyone I found this in another post, re a page of equivalent parts maintained by K. Jürgen Schöpf, > They'd be a nice addition to Jurgen's parts exchange: http://www.sdp-pinzgauer.org/html/parts_reference.html (also in my favorites) This is not live any more, but it is being rehosted at http://...

710K hardtop removal - how hard?

Hi folks I'm just wondering how hard it is to remove (and replace) a 710K hartop. I have access to a workshop with a roof level winch. The appropriate parts diagram for this is http://www.puch.at/en/spare-parts/pinzgauer-petrol-710-712/body/hard-top/ It looks like there are only a few bolts to remov...

Re: Electronic speedometer sender

Indeed Jimm, but all my intel says the UK government organization that takes care of vehicle licensing won't accept a GPS solution in a vehicle.... but yes, while driving this from Sweden I was using a GPS satnav and reading my speed from that. And no GPS speedo is not the only one of my problems of...

Re: Electronic speedometer sender

Thanks rmel, I have seen that page, and did an image search to see if I could find the manufacturer of the parts. Nope.

I've been distracted by work (damn! ), so haven't looked into this further, but maybe I have found a local guy to fix my mech speedo.

Re: Front impact protection. petrol tank protection

Thanks Albert ^^^^^ So I found this from a specialist supplier of roll cages and bent tube: If you intend to race your vehicle then the hoops must comply to the Motor Sport Association (MSA) and Fédération Internationale de l Automobile (FIA). These rules stipulate that you must use either 44.45mm O...
