Re: Brake reservoir caps (white ones)

Just the caps. In my case everthing else was fine. Just be careful with the Rtv. It is not structural, so cannot handle any real pressure. Another alternative is the high strength silicone emergency tape. Make sure you remove all fluid traces, then tape. But all these are short term temp/emergency f...

Re: Brake reservoir caps (white ones)

I had the same issue and could only order SAV replacements after 7 months. I molded/cast a reinforcing ring around the split cap with alumilite, then glued it in the ring with brake fluid resistant rtv silicone. Lasted and sealed perfectly. Key thing is to mold it thin enough to fit.

Yes, waiting for response.
I cast an alumilite reinforcing ring today that keeps the split cap together. Buys me some time.

Re: WTB: Brake fluid reservoir complete or caps

Thanks. Will definitely try the o ring source.
EI does not have any related parts.
Mine is split as well.
Push comes to shove, I'll use some alumilite to cast a ring around it.

WTB: Brake fluid reservoir complete or caps

Gents I'm looking for the caps that screws onto the brake reservoirs, left, below the steering wheel, I have a 76 K, and one cap has split. It's being kept together with high temp silicone tape for now. If you happen to have any, or know where I can get some, please let me know. I'm also sooking for...

Re: Aux Fuel Tanks

I forgot to mention - vent lines are routed out the back left of the truck, through the grommet next to the number plate. Lines are fitted with roll-over valves. Hoses are high pressure, either Oetinger clamped, or double clamped. I pressure tested the system via the vent line before installing the ...

Aux Fuel Tanks

My solution to increase the fuel carrying capacity of the Pinz. (Photos in reverse order...) Photo 1: Rear of the truck after the insides were sandblasted and coated with POR-15 Photo 2: Two marine, below deck approved, fuel storage tanks with integrated gauges, vents, etc. The Facet fuel pump picks...

Re: LED compatible turn signal Flasher

Yes, I have two flasher units - will modify one, then compare against the other. My 40 year old flasher unit still worked - until circumstances forced me to leave it in place when the truck was sandblasted. Anything not bombproof sealed was affected by the dust. Took a month of rewiring, replacing, ...

Re: LED compatible turn signal Flasher

Good to know. I have the SAV unit but still use the stock lamps. They are in bad condition so the replacement led set is in a box - waiting.
I will do this fix before I switch.

Re: Reverse gear angle/shifter adjustment

Yes, Austrian. Looking at the diagram, my current adjustment in first looks like it should look in second. Angle is adjusted max to left seen from below. When in second it is a long way away from the angle. Which lead tomy question after observing from below. I dont want to start tuning at the back ...

Reverse gear angle/shifter adjustment

Gents A question regarding the angle/shifter adjustment for reverse (and protection for going direct from first to reverse). I reviewed the available threads, the manual, and had an assistant manipulate while I observe from below. My top circlip was broken, so that was replaced. I have all the parts...

Luck... It seems to improve when you plan! :-)
Good suggestion with the knife. Yes, I saw the presentation of the glue, and also opted for yellow.
Will do it this weekend.

Re: Door weatherstripping replacment

Ok thanks - good I asked. I had the tip leaning outwards, but it then appears as if the long "tail" section was to long. It got caught between the door and truck frame.
Did you glue both surfaces of the arrow head or only one?

Re: Door weatherstripping replacment

rmel Great job.... I'm using the same material as you. A question. The seal is arrow shaped. It fits in the U channel around the door perimeter. Where does the arrow "point" go? U corner on the glass side, or the outside? Described differently, on your last photo, top run, does the arrow &...
