Re: Removing rear side panels?

Finished sealing and painting the panels and quite happy with the results. Took it out for some exercise this weekend:

Re: Removing rear side panels?

Quite some time since your last post, but I had mine apart two weeks ago to replace the old rubber sealant that had cracked and was leaking. Have you got your panels off yet? The panel is slid into groves at the back and top part and held in place by the three bolts and sealant at the bottom (and m...

Steering linkage replacement

Most every part of my steering linkage is worn out. Does anyone have any suggestions for replacement parts that are not original? Anything I can find in north america that would work for tie rod ends etc? Considering having someone fabricate a new steering linkage where I can use tie rod ends for do...

Re: Newbie looking for VIN # L3314

This might not be very helpful but... I don't know for the C202 but the VIN on the C303 is engraved on this part of the frame (had to rub off a bunch of dirt to see it). Perhaps it's somewhere similar on the C202?

Looking at the prices I would go for a good used gearbox.
Thanks for the info. Yikes! Yeah, I'm looking for a used one now...

Re: 3rd gear grinding. Worn synchro?

...have you checked oil level ? changed oil ? If that does not help you have to change the synchronring. For downshifting it will help reving it a little bit up while doublechlutching. First you can try if its better resting a little bit longer in N if you change gears. Thank you for the reply. Yes...

3rd gear grinding. Worn synchro?

I have an issue with 3rd gear grinding when up shifting and down shifting (down shifting much much worse but up shifting is bad too). If I double clutch, it helps some. When the truck is cold, it's pretty bad regardless of double clutching or not. When warm, 95% of the grinding noise goes away when ...

Re: Removing rear side panels?

...if your sidepanels are waterproof now, I would not take them out. The sidepanel is fitted in with a rubberseal and sometimes glued in. You have to take care not to destroy the rubberseal, otherwise it will be difficult to get it waterproof again. There should be only some bolts at the downside y...

Removing rear side panels?

Does anyone know how easily the rear side panels come out? I want to have someone make some replacement panels and was going to take the old ones out that they can use for measurements. Before I get too into it though, I was wondering if anyone has taken theirs out and perhaps even have some photos ...

Re: Need new 24v alternator - URGENT

Just wanted to post an update.

Truck is home and is driving and charging fine. It seems the alternator was the issue and not the voltage regulator. It takes putting it into gear and starting to drive though before the charging light goes out but it does so right away when I drive off.

Re: Need new 24v alternator - URGENT

Thanks everyone for the help, really appreciate it! I've now flown back home and left the truck in Pennsylvania. I will be getting it shipped back home instead where I can take my time to diagnose this issue (and it's not below 0!). If it's indeed working now with the new alternator, I will just lea...

Re: Need new 24v alternator - URGENT

They will fit on a standard car hauler. I've done this before. ;) Just say its like the size of a Yukon when they are asking. You could always get it shipped part ways. Have him drop it off at a hotel somewhere you want to visit and fly in. I did that once for a Utah trip back when I lived on the e...

Re: Need new 24v alternator - URGENT

Well it's only about 2500 miles :) It seems okay now with the new alternator but as much as I like adventure, I think I might get it shipped after all.

Will have to put it on a flatbed due to the size so it's going to be $$$$ :(
