Northern Colorado locker repair.
My ‘73 710 M makes intermitant grinding noise from front passenger axle only when locker is engaged. Seems like suspension travel brings worst nouses.
Looking for repair help, I have shop with lift and tools. Or a repair shop that can do the repair. Im in Ft Collins, CO.
Thanks guys.

Re: Disc brake conversion
Pinz was trailered to Moab from Colorado. Tires were/are great, no damage incurred. Tires were balanced at the tire shop who mounted them with lead weights on inside rim. We didnt drive much asphalt but when we did there was no poor performance from such an aggressive tread.

Re: Disc brake conversion
I finished adding the rear disc brake conversion the day before I left for a Moab Utah trail ride. 250 trail miles in 3 days, including Kane Creek and Elephant Hill. Both trails are rated difficult and were. Without power steering steep, technical, rocky, lots of ledges and drop offs are really outs...

Disc brake conversion
Got the KlugeWerks disc Brake Conversion finished . Great quality parts and detailed instructions. Very easy install. My brake discs are the newer vented style. The wheels and wheel spacers came from KlugeWerks too. I think I gain 3.5” in axle width which should provide enhanced stability on hill si...

Re: My Pinzgauer is undergoing a civilian face lift
I went by his shop in town. He still has the Pinz/vw creation. He recently bought a 712 so his interests continue. I have his email address if anyone desires to contact him.

Re: Hyde Ho
The “horns’ are from the ladder rack that the material came from. They look odd and you might think I’d catch em on a tree or something, we’ll see.

And away we go. My new ‘73 710. Slapped on an aluminum bumper recycled from an old ladder rack off my dodge. Brush guard is 1 3/4’ aluminum tube from an old raft frame. Put together a winch Mount since I travel solo a lot. The fender flares are 2” steel tube which should provide cover for the extend...
