Re: Looking to buy Radio Antenna Mast AS-1729

I got a couple from this guy: http://www.pvtjarhead.com/mx6707.html As I remember they were about $100 for both sections of the antenna. You just have to email him and he'll give you further instructions. A bit unusual way to do transaction but mine came as advertised. He's based in Reno, NV. Unfor...

Re: Clutch failure on trail. Need help.

Since there is not much warning, is there a way to check how much wear on the clutch friction disk before this happens on the trail or road? Would a borescope through the inspection hole or slave cylinder hole show this before it fails?

Re: Engine stumble halp

How much advance? I see from the PinzSSI website up to 1-2 mm, which I think is the distance from the mark to the pointer. Some speak in terms of degrees but I believe that does not apply to the SSI since it's optical? or something to the extend they have shielded wires? Also, it seem that the light...

Re: Exhaust re-do

That is the clamp I used.
I did ceramic coat the parts but I dont think it should affected it very much. I'll have to see the pipe expander option. Thanks.

Re: Exhaust re-do

I'm finding out there is an exhaust leak from the header to flex kit connection. I used the clamp that came with the kit but I think a band clamp would work better but I can't find one small enough. Anyone else have the same problem?

Re: Pinz Fluid summary

So I took out the GL-5 option from the portals. From what I have read, definitely do not use any synthetics for the portal, in the event of leaks it can damage brakes. I did see the spec page for the mil-l-2105 but seems the only oil that has that spec is from liqui-moly, and it's not easy to buy wh...

Re: WTB: Carb Rebuild Kit (early / small idle screw)

Shouldered screw, #72 https://swissarmyvehicles.com/pinzgauer/01-40-72/7121080391/bolt-carb-bottom Some I believe just use locktite, but I do think these screws minimize the vibrations and lessen the chance for loosening, but I still use locktite. Also Jim L mentions it in his carb rebuild instructi...

Re: WTB: Carb Rebuild Kit (early / small idle screw)

Make sure all shut off solenoids are working. Throttle shaft seals would be helpfull but they are also out of stock. I Read somewhere there were suppose to be two shouldered screws and two partially threaded screws between throttle body and float bowl. Mine did not have the shouldered screws but SAV...

Pinz Fluid summary

Been looking at the threads for fluids for the pinz and wanted to summarize what I found and see if anyone has any updates/changes/revisions or alternatives to them. Included are the capacities (for buying online purposes), and also what I think they mean in the parenthesis This is for a 710K pinz o...

Re: Misc Carbs questions

In the operating environment for the throttle, wouldn't the positive pressure, atmospheric pressure in this case, be on the outside versus the vacuum within the throttle body. As such, with the design of the radial seal, seem flat side would be facing in so that the atmospheric pressure, which is hi...

Re: Misc Carbs questions

These are the floats by the way. Bottom is new. New floats from either EI and SAV look identical to me from their website. I think I'll just take the black rubber/plastic parts off the new one and put it on the metal portion of the old float, unless it is better just to use the old one again. They s...
