Re: 710M vs Garage Height
That's fantastic thanks! That feels me that removing some trim plus deflators should solve my dilemma. I hate the hassle but if it's the difference btwn having a pinz and not it'll be worth it. Thank you for the details. 100%. Airing down WILL make a difference, as noted by the data. And consider i...

Re: 710M vs Garage Height
Do you own this garage so you could modify it? Often there is a trim board under the header that you could remove provide the Aesthetics Committee approves. That'd buy you at least 3/4in. You may need every bit you can get. Also, be very careful about bounces and entry angles -- that can reduce your...

710K front antenna tubes (find or replicate)
I'd like to find or replicate the original accessories that would be clamped on the front of a 710K. Some folks just put PVC tubes there, but I want to match the original parts as best as possible, presuming they don't exist. Can anyone help with pics, dimensions, links, etc? I see these https://swi...

Re: Hard starting hot
I believe this is one reason the carb-to-intake gasket is so thick -- thermal insulation.

Re: crankcase ventilation
So....air/oil separators are common on aircraft (also aircooled), and often the subject of much debate. Some say they're super smart, and others say it's like putting a tube from your mouth to your, well, "backside". Read some arguments here: https://cessnaowner.org/point-counterpoint-do-y...

Re: crankcase ventilation
Rather that compare the Pinz engine to a lawn mower, I'd say the crankcase ventilation system is comparable to the VW engines of the era in which it was designed.

Re: 710K front-to-back CG?
Since no one had this data to share, I went off and borrowed some racing scales to collect data. Here's what I learned: All numbers are with the truck fully-fueled. Additionally, the truck has the standard tool kit, and a ham radio setup with a 20Ah Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4) battery and stubb...

Yes, send them to JimL down in San Bernardino. He'll test them on a real engine after rebuilding them.

Upper left in the attached photo, just to the left of the red flasher knob. The white knob above the socket turns on the power to that socket.

Re: Power Port Connection
Anyone hooked up a light/rotating beacon via the power port? Any info on the appropriate connector that goes in there?.....Light etc.? No need to go to EI for it. It's a common connector. BMW Triumph Tiger Ducati Motorcycles, for example. It's a Euro thang. Here's a product that uses it, for exampl...

Re: Removing window on 710
Same as mentioned by others -- mine were tightly stuck and it took some quality time with a thin putty knife and patience so things don't get bent. Likely heating it would help as well.
Be careful when you put it back on that you don't plug up the drain hole.

Re: Exhaust Pipe Flex
I used butyl rubber sealant tape for the joint. https://www.mcmaster.com/products/sealant-tape/material~butyl/ Butyl rubber is the stuff I see used most in automotive when you need to seal two pieces of body panel together, but would like to be able to separate them. It's all over my Toyota trucks ...

Re: Ethanol proof carb and pump?
Lots of us have no choice other than E10, and I've not heard/read of gasket/diaphragm related issues. Just the normal water/corrosion issues that come with E10 vs. E0.
