Sure thing. Hope it's not too late for this season. Let's see.

Re: 'Mad Iris' The Pinzgauer - Fiat Croma combo build

And just my opinion, but I would drop that snow plow before the roll cage. And not the worst rims either, would probably look better with some off-road tires, if you can find some to fit. I am biased though, I always sort of lusted after that truck. I hope you keep us posted on the progress! Haha.....

Re: 'Mad Iris' The Pinzgauer - Fiat Croma combo build

I don´t think the engine will make any problems ... I had the same in a Lancia Thema long time ago ... it had only a little to much torque for the small clutch and the long transmission, but no reason to blame the engine ... had 250 000 kms on the clock, when we sold the car. The SOFIM factory, now...

Can't agree more with Fiat engines. But this is almost a tractor engine (no electronics), let's see how it holds up.

Re: 'Mad Iris' The Pinzgauer - Fiat Croma combo build

I'd order every likely to fail spare part you can find for that engine and keep it in the garage. The last thing you want to do is take it somewhere and find out you have to wait weeks to get a lift-pump or whatever. And I'd really consider finding some stock or different wheels. Thanks VinceAtReal...

Re: 'Mad Iris' The Pinzgauer - Fiat Croma combo build

You crazy SOB, you did it! Hopefully, you stole it (i.e. got a good price) I definitely second the idea to look over hoses and lines. Make sure you get into looking at all the hydraulic systems, check the rubber parts behind the locker panels (first repair I did on my ruck, those seem to fail). On ...

Re: 'Mad Iris' The Pinzgauer - Fiat Croma combo build

How's the engine? Does it run? Compression good? If so, how's the vehicle drive? Me? My passion is oil leaks. Find and remedy *all* of them you can. A dry drivetrain is a happy drivetrain that you can spot problems on. Check every single hose and replace any that are questionable. I maintain severa...

'Mad Iris' The Pinzgauer - Fiat Croma combo build

I will start working on 'Mad Iris', the Pinzgauer with an early Fiat Croma engine. Brief: The truck was imported from Montenegro to the USA. No records and no maintenance done in the recent past. Pinzgauers did not come with Fiat engines. I am guessing a passionate person did this combo. Some folks ...

Re: *Not Mine* Pinzgauer 710K on Mecum

On the Facebook group one of the guys that managed these trucks shared a lot of interesting info about them. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I am not on Facebook. Are you referring to a Pinzgauer or Real4X4 Facebook group? There are a couple very active Facebook groups. Here is one of them. Adju...

Re: HELP Missing Screw for Axle Boot

Scott, are you talking about one of the four bolts that clamp the split axle boots? If so, Expedition Imports should be able to help you. I notice that split axle boots are sold with and without hardware. The difference is only couple of dollars. So, the price should be decent too. Sent from my Redm...

Re: New RollpaX gas cans

Saw the new RollPax cans and having been impressed with Rotoax stuff I thought these could be useful on some builds. They aren't cheap at around $170 and are made for roll-bar mounting but also do flat mounting. The quality of the 2.5g normal can they have was very nice and I had it on the Gwagen i...

Re: Buying this monstrosity...1983 Pinzgauer

Early on in my looking I lusted after that truck. Not sure what it is, the color, the cab? I passed on that one and have watched for 5+ years as many have passed before you. This may be an indication of something, lol... And as far as support, would love to help as many on here would, but I got no ...
