Re: Rebuilding locker masters
First and foremost, you cannot pressure bleed the locker masters or slaves. It is a 2 man job. It is easier to explain over the phone, but I'll try to summarize. With the locker tray out try to actuate each lever, you can spray some penetrate on the back of the pistons and let soak for 20min. Next r...

Re: Rotella users: T4 or T6?
Use only 30wt per operating instructions.
Rotella T-1 30wt with a bottle of STP with ZDDP additives.
I see firsthand what damage thinner oils do.
If you want it to last, use the right oils.
Thin oils are quickly consumed through valve guides and also cause piston scuffing.

Post a picture of your intake manifold and computer.
I’m pretty sure I can identify it with the pictures.
I use EMS computers mounted behind driver seat.

Re: Troubleshooting with Pinz SSI
Easy solution for checking spark regardless of system is use a spare spark plug ground to valve cover between the fins. Observe for spark while cranking.
Quick way to find a bad wire or verify spark.

Re: engine leak from block seam?
Case halves sealed with aviation sealant just like the pinzgauer. Lots of work. Best suggestion is to pin point leak and then patch with oil resistant RTV after cleaning.

Re: Loss of power/Stumbling....
You are miss-informed.
Flamethrower coils work for years.
They usually fail if voltage regulator is bad or over extended cranking. When you push starter button, coil gets full 24v.

Also check for loose or stranded wires at starter since you mentioned doing the mount.

Re: Compression ratio
If you look at the parts book, there’s 128mm, 129mm , 130mm cylinders. The 712 AMB and WB had the short cylinders for higher compression. Going beyond 8.6:1 can cause Conrods to self eject. They can leave amazing holes in the block. I have both parts of a broken rod on my work bench from a poorly mo...

Change clamps to t-bolt full radius type. I find that these work best. Never weld any couplings to header pipes. It complicates future repairs.

Also check brake fluid level. The lamp is dual function
Fluid level and park lamp switch. Must of the time
It’s just a cable or switch adjustment.
