Re: Engine Accelerating

I found the problem with acceleration. The back carburetor's linkage fell off. Reattached, but still getting the sputtering. I had thought it had the SSI kit, but was mistaken. It has a new coil, wires and spark plugs. Looks like I need to purchase the SSI and get that installed, so timing could be ...

Re: Engine Accelerating

Thanks for the replies. I will look into Goatwerks. The nice thing is they are only a little over an hour from me. That's not Pinz time. :-)

Pcolette - Thanks for the pic.

Engine Accelerating

I just recently purchased a 710K. When driving it home it was sputtering and backfiring anytime I went up a hill. I upgraded to SSI and replaced the plugs, hoping this would resolve the problem. The plugs had black soot, so I am assuming this is a carburetor issue. Since I'm not familiar with workin...

Re: Gas Leaking When Filling

I have the bellow and no seal, so I guess I am good without the seal. I will just tighten the crap out of the hose clamps.

Re: Gas Leaking When Filling

I dropped the tank, so I'm going to replace the gaskets. I'm not really seeing where the gas may have been coming from. It was when I was filling up, so I'm going to assume it was from the filler tube. When I removed the boot and then the filler tube, I was expecting to see a sealer ring around the ...

Re: Pinzgauer Rescue

Hi Ron. What type of paint are you using? I plan on painting as I go, so not sure if I should invest in a paint sprayer. For example, I plan on dropping the gas tank and while I have it out, I'll go ahead and paint it. Currently looking at the standard green for the pinz with black accents. Also, wh...

Re: Gas Leaking When Filling

The gentleman who owned it prior to me had it for about 4 years. I bought it from his wife, since he recently passed away. She did not know the history of the vehicle. I think the truck had all original gear in it when he purchased it. He had several large rooms full of old military radio gear. His ...

Re: Gas Leaking When Filling

Already has radios, just need to put in some newer technology around it. I just turned them on and they all seem to be in working order.

Re: Gas Leaking When Filling

Thanks again Ron.

Looks to me like I will need to drop the tank. It doesn't look difficult.

Re: Gas Leaking When Filling

Thank you both. I will check the different areas to try and narrow it down, but there is gas by the boot area, so I think it's leaking prior to hitting the tank, so my thinking is the seal in the filler tube. I will tighten what I can and check the sending unit seal. I live in Fallbrook, in north Sa...

Gas Leaking When Filling

I just joined the Pinzgauer family after purchasing a 74 710K. So the journey begins . . . When I first filled the gas tank, there was gas leaking and dripping onto the ground. It appears to be the seal between the tank and the filler tube. I'm trying to remove the boot to get down inside to determi...
