Re: front wheel hub steps
I ended up building me own. Here's the dimensions I used. The flange is just less than the gap between the wheel and the brake housing so that it won't interfere with wheel mounting. The set screw keeps it from rattling once installed. There's nothing magic about the wall thickness on the step itsel...

Re: Pinz troubleshooting
I'm anxious to see the responses. Mine does the same thing. I just assumed it was the accelerator pump and was going to address it when I redo the carbs. On mine, once its warmed up, I can very slowly accelerate and it will do so without a stumble. On a normal acceleration though it balks and tries ...

Re: 712M won't start. Looking for ideas.
When you push the start button, it bypasses the ballast resistor and runs full voltage to the coil so you get a good hot spark for starting. Keeping full voltage going to the coil would shorten it's life, so once its started and you let off the start button, power is then routed through the ballast ...

Re: Speedometer/odometer calibration?
If I remember correctly, the odometer/trip meter are gear driven from the input cable. The speedometer is indirectly driven. The input cable turns a magnet that fits inside a cup (but the magnet and cup don't actually touch each other - there's an air gap). The other side of the cup has a shaft on i...

TC-W3 as a fuel additive
Has anyone tried using TC-W3 (marine 2-stroke oil) as a fuel additive in their Pinz? It supposedly improves mileage lubes the fuel pump and eliminates some of the deleterious effects of alcohol in fuel, etc. Quite a lot about it here: https://www.ls1.com/forums/f48/been-testing-oil-91206/ including ...

WTB Pinzgauer Speedo
I'm looking for an old original Pinzgauer speedo that I can cannibalize for parts to rebuild mine (again).

Re: Gas Leaking When Filling
Good to know, thanks. I try to put stuff back the way I found it, but if you've been happy with the single vapor seal, that's probably the way I'll go. My tank should be back from refurb next week, so we'll see how it goes.
Thanks again,

Re: volt meter install
I didn't think about it before, but if you've bypassed your 4500 RPM Module like many have, you could plug into that connector for power coming from the ignition switch as well. Anyway, glad you got it done. I see you're in the keys - we miss it down there, old stomping grounds - my wife and I both ...

Lots of places would work. I'd probably go with terminal 61a on the ignition switch.
