Re: Pinzgauer support mission near Detroit.

Andre, You live two hours from DFW. There are at least five daily direct flights from DFW to Detroit and back. The earliest departs Dallas at 6am CST and arrives Detroit at 9:30am EST. Seems to me that you could catch an early flight, have this person pick you up at the airport in her Pinz 710 and y...

Re: Volvo Information, Operator and Service Manuals

Digiman,
I think EVERYONE on this forum would be interested...as well as many on other forums as well! Can these video gems the uploaded to YouTube or some similar service? I am not the best person at knowing what can be done with digital data.
How long are these films?
Take care.

Re: Petronix question

That is good to know. The Mercedes M180/129/108/114/130/123 motor series certainly have a more exposed "up front" distributor location than the volvo B30A location torwards the back. At this point, I think we will move the original Power Arc Ignition prototype from the TGB1314A to the AluZn TGB11 an...

Re: Petronix question

I recently came across their sight ad was intriuged by the very low price compared to the Pertronix unit. I will be contacting them and asking about the use of one of their units on the Bosch distributor on the Volvo TGB trucks. If need be, I will send an original distributor their direction so the ...

Re: Petronix question

Rick, I had looked at the 123 Igntion unit on and off for many years. The one and only thing that deters me from purchasing one of these very nicelooking units is its lack waterproofing. There have been reports on Michael's C303.de website of units failing due to moisture intrusion when driving on w...

Re: In search of Aluzink TGB cab

FastJoh, We are neighbors...of sorts. Nice to know of another TGB that managed licensure in California. Jed Wilson (I think in Santa Cruz) had his 1975 non-AluZn TGB11 for sale recently. Volvo TGBs registered in your state seem to be a very rare breed. Do you have an internet location with more phot...

Re: Petronix question

Rick, To my understanding, in the EOM configuration, the relay is designed to temporarily allow unresisted 24VDC directly from the ignition switch to the coil at start-up. Shortly thereafter, the ballast resistor comes into play for normal coil operation. Seems more complicated than necessary but th...

Re: In search of Aluzink TGB cab

FastJoh, You are now the sixth person I know in the US who would like to replace their non-AluZn cab/body with the less rusty AluZn version. Your very best bet is to contact Claes/Sofia at Tatanka and others in Sweden. Over the past two decades, I have seen some pretty amazing repairs made on some v...

Northwest MogFest 2021: The Oregon Trail 2.0

Hello to all! When the State of Oregon mandated that outdoor gathering be kept under 250 attendees, we knew we had to officially cancel Northwest MogFest 2020. Annual attendance varies from 350-700 individuals. In place of the usual event, we decided to host a smaller Waldersee Farmily ReUNIon the s...

Re: Master Cylinder

Judson, As I am sure you are already aware, Tatanka in Sweden offers a rebuild kit for the original dual circuit M/C. I used one of these kits to rebuild a MC on a 1976 AluZn TGB11 and the quality was quite high. It was not cheap. Claes and Sofia also offer a non-stock dual circuit M/C replacement w...

Gentlemen,
Thank you. Very good to know. When lessening complexity and maximizing simplicity is the goal, that would not be the optimal choice.
Take care.

Re: Engine wanted

Thank you for thei information and the photos. Very nice work on the repalcement instument panel fabrication! Our 12v TGB1314A witht eh MB OM617A turbodiesel could use an instrument panel upgrade and the Haltech ic-7 appears perfect.
Take care.
