Re: Flange Leak

Uli, Thank your for the reminder. Do you have the SKF part number? The dimensions? The cost? Do you plan to use the same size seal or one with a slightly larger internal diameter? Was the sleeve a simple press fit or did you heat the sleeve/chill the stub axle prior to installation. Jim Molloy Walde...

Re: Northwest MogFest 2020; The Oregon Trail

Aaron, We are as well! While I do not know anyone in the PNW who owns a Volvo TGB20, it certainly would be nice to greet the MVPA convoy with the full range of Volvo TGB variants along with ex-military Haflingers, Pinzgauers, Unimogs, G-wagens, Saurers, Land Rovers, French Lohr, MAN, Hanomag, DKW/Au...

Re: Northwest MogFest 2020; The Oregon Trail

Vince, In the first twenty years, we had a bit of rain four times that I recall. On sunny clear days with high barometric pressure, high temps can rise into the 90's and low 100's. When cloudy, we tend to see mid 70's and 80's. Around 7:00 pm, he get a strong sea breeze that comes inland over the co...

Northwest MogFest 2020; The Oregon Trail

Hello to all! I wanted to get a bit of an early start this year with some details of what is planned for 2020 at Waldersee Farm. Dates for NWMF2020 are August 13th-16th. Theme: The Oregon Trail Along with many Unimogs, Land Rovers and Pinzgauers and other European, the numbers of Haflingers and Volv...

Re: Engine wanted

Very good thought! One of those priceless "teaching opportunities" that forward control truck drivers can impart upon the reckless and uneducated. A true potentially life saving eye opener.
Take care.

Re: Engine wanted

Thank you! Mine was not meant to be aggressive either. Just a reminder to all. I have no doubt about your driving skills and understanding about driving these vehicles at speed. You are absolutely correct about the importance of maintaining adequate (some people might think excessive) braking distan...

Re: Engine wanted

Just to be clear, I was not questioning the capability of the standard Volvo TGB brakes when faced with speeds originally expected to be encountered by both Volvo and the Swedish military. My concern would be how well the brakes would function when the road speed is pushed up into the 70+-80mph (pus...

Re: Engine wanted

While I believe House of Spanners made several R&P sets including a 5.99:1 6x6 set to match the road speed of the standard 4x4 trucks, their fastest R&P set was either 5.0:1 or 5.1:1. What size tires are you currently running? Please remind me...where you planning or have you already upgraded your b...

You mentioned installing different gears in your differentials. What ratio did you choose? Please define "stupid fast'. :)

Re: Questions - new to Pinzgauer - about to maybe purchase 710K

JungleJudah, There is no doubt whatsoever that Pinzgauers are beautifully engineered trucks. Have you ever considered the Volvo C303/304/306 series trucks? Current availability appears to be healthy as are replacement parts. The original B30A six cylinder powerplant produces 117hp which is adequate ...

Re: Volvo Information, Operator and Service Manuals

Dustin, I know Mercedes had been EXTREMELY possessive/protective of their intellectual property when i came to reproducing parts, service and operator's manuals. A firm called Buch und Bild had sole rights to produce and sell Unimog manuals. Thankfully, Volvo has allowed their documents to be upload...
