Re: In search of Aluzink TGB cab

FastJoh, We are neighbors...of sorts. Nice to know of another TGB that managed licensure in California. Jed Wilson (I think in Santa Cruz) had his 1975 non-AluZn TGB11 for sale recently. Volvo TGBs registered in your state seem to be a very rare breed. Do you have an internet location with more phot...

Re: Petronix question

Rick, To my understanding, in the EOM configuration, the relay is designed to temporarily allow unresisted 24VDC directly from the ignition switch to the coil at start-up. Shortly thereafter, the ballast resistor comes into play for normal coil operation. Seems more complicated than necessary but th...

Re: In search of Aluzink TGB cab

FastJoh, You are now the sixth person I know in the US who would like to replace their non-AluZn cab/body with the less rusty AluZn version. Your very best bet is to contact Claes/Sofia at Tatanka and others in Sweden. Over the past two decades, I have seen some pretty amazing repairs made on some v...

Northwest MogFest 2021: The Oregon Trail 2.0

Hello to all! When the State of Oregon mandated that outdoor gathering be kept under 250 attendees, we knew we had to officially cancel Northwest MogFest 2020. Annual attendance varies from 350-700 individuals. In place of the usual event, we decided to host a smaller Waldersee Farmily ReUNIon the s...

Re: Master Cylinder

Judson, As I am sure you are already aware, Tatanka in Sweden offers a rebuild kit for the original dual circuit M/C. I used one of these kits to rebuild a MC on a 1976 AluZn TGB11 and the quality was quite high. It was not cheap. Claes and Sofia also offer a non-stock dual circuit M/C replacement w...

Re: Engine wanted

Gentlemen,
Thank you. Very good to know. When lessening complexity and maximizing simplicity is the goal, that would not be the optimal choice.
Take care.

Re: Engine wanted

Thank you for thei information and the photos. Very nice work on the repalcement instument panel fabrication! Our 12v TGB1314A witht eh MB OM617A turbodiesel could use an instrument panel upgrade and the Haltech ic-7 appears perfect.
Take care.

Re: Engine wanted

I am interested in the display itself. Also interested in the parts you no longer need...other than the motor. I am fine with what I have at present...including a Penta AQ170.

Re: Engine wanted

Looks well done! Clean and uncluttered. Can you provide a close-up shot of the instrument panel?
Any plans to sell the items no longer being used? Gauges? Cables Warning lights? Original relays?
Take care.

Re: WHO CAN REBUILD MY FRONT PORTAL BOXES?

Mike, Where are you located? Dennis Linden in Colorado was the only person I knew of that was working on Volvo TGB trucks commercially. Thomas Schwagerl in North Carolina is a TGB truck importer. A recent customer rolled his TGB11 on the way home after purchase and the truck was returned to Thomas f...

Re: Axles Portal bearing cross reference

OUTBACK,
These modified exploded parts diagrams are Brandon's hard work and greatly appreciated! The more parts that can be cross-referenced, the better. Makes life easier when it comes to finding parts quickly and from a variety of sources.
Take care.

Re: Northwest MogFest 2020; The Oregon Trail

Hello to all... It is with a great deal of reservation and disappointment that we announce the cancellation of our 21st annual Northwest MogFest gathering this year. Given the Oregon governor's continued stance on large group activities, it appears it will take a miracle to allow us to open our arms...
