Re: Cannot change into gears, only with engine off ???

Thanks a million guys ! What a great site this is. It is just like having friends, that help you with your car problems. I will try later in the day, when I have time, but due to the explanations; I now know the problem and will start the Pinz every 2 weeks, no matter what to prevent this from happe...

Cannot change into gears, only with engine off ???

Gents, Due to circumstances I could not run my Pinz for 6 months. Charged batteries and engine is running OK. BUT while engine is running; I cannot get her into any gears, but when engine is off, I can easily change into all gears... I had this problem a long time ago, also when rested for a few mon...

Re: OIL-LEAKS: the pinz-bane

Hi R Mel,

Looks very interesting ! I might just try this for maintenance at reduced concentration. I am seeing some black oil near the cylinder-heads, but no drops as yet...

Thanks for the info!

Re: How does the starter switch circuit work + more question

Gents, What an absolute great forum this is!! You ask your 'Pinz-brothers' and some will always come trooping along, to give an answer on any problem. Thanks for the replies; I am aware that in the original Pinz-system, the ignition-switch needed to handle 50 amps or so, but I want to rewire my Pinz...

Re: How does the starter switch circuit work + more question

Hi Jim M I was just asking in case I missed something. I am planning to use a simple lockable ignition switch instead of this expensive original switch. You're right; for the EFI a different coil is part of the kit and it does not mention anything about ballast-resistors, just turning the start-moto...

Re: How does the starter switch circuit work + more question

Gentlemen, I am in the 'planning stage' of installing Jake Raby's EFI and need to analyze the electrical circuit and came upon this excellent explanation of the ignition-switch and starter-button. I added this 'simplified' drawing of the circuit, it shows the starter-button as in real life; no conne...

Re: OIL-LEAKS: the pinz-bane

Gents,

Thanks for all the replies and suggestions. I do have a 'special' type of sand that absorbs oil-stains, but having no leaks is better, if only for the cost of the spare parts. Again many thanks

Best regards,

Jules

Re: OIL-LEAKS: the pinz-bane

Thanks Texas710 !

That is a good article about it.
I looked it up and have some hope that it should be possible, but not easy, unless you take the whole housing off.
I'll see how far I get

Best regards
Jules.

Re: OIL-LEAKS: the pinz-bane

Hi Clive, I forgot to mention that I wiped the leaks, so they look better than 'for real', however it is my wife who hates oil-leaks on the driveway... They are only small leaks, but they are persistent and remember" Mama ain't happy, - nobody - ain't happy... The oil-leak where the wire goes i...

OIL-LEAKS: the pinz-bane

Gents, After years, suddenly two points are starting to leak, that never did before... My Pinz did not leak before, because I bought a Puch-factory overhauled ( in 1995-1997 all Austrian Army Pinzes were factory-overhauled ) Pinz in 2007, that then had a new-refurbished engine, start-motor and carbu...

No springs, no shock absorbers ???

Well gents, Here is a chance to really 'rock the boat' in offroad driving, or rather stabilize it. It is a hydraulic piston that replaces the springs and shocks. I imagine it would not be cheap, but write them and send the money. http://cdn2.hubspot.net/hubfs/84685/docs/Bulletin_Suspension.pdf?t=145...

Leaking steering column

Hi gents, In the first place thanks very much for replying so quickly. This is really such a great forum ! I will fill up with 85W-140 oil and maybe the seal-expander (when I find it) to slow down the leak, while I am ordering other parts. I am ordering all the relevant seals and O-rings and then ta...

Re: Tough to turn

Gents, It turned out that there was no more oil leaking, because the small reservoir was basically empty... I filled it up and thought all was OK, until 2 months later I detected a 1/2 coffee-cup of oil in the area below the Alu-foot-plate. I would really like to avoid taking off the whole steering ...

Re: How to jack up a 712M when I want to remove 2 tires ?

Gents, Thanks very much for replying ! I usually get notice someone has replied, but not this time, so late in responding. The powder-coat is sandblasting first, then zinc covered to prevent rust, then a coat of special paint applied electronically and baked on at 350 degrees celcius. The advantage ...
