How to jack up a 712M when I want to remove 2 tires ?
Gents, I want to powder-coat my wheels, but I am not sure where exactly to put the support (2 x 3 ton-supports). I can obviously only do two wheels at the time if I don't want my Pinz to fall over, so I am planning for that. Preferably I would like to do the sides first (right-side or left-side), as...

Re: Tough to turn
Hi Gents, I cleaned up the area really well and filled up with gear-oil (90W is all I had) the top-part of the steering-column, where the worm-wheel is. Strangely enough I have not seen anymore oil leaking. Possibly when I hit the speed-bump, it 'threw' out some oil where the horn-wire goes in ??? A...

Leaking steering column
Hi gents, In the first place; thanks for replying so quickly. I really did buy my Pinz, after I found out about this forum, I thought I would be 'save' with problems. I was starting to worry about road-safety, imagine the steering-column locking up while you're driving on the highway. I also felt ve...

Re: Tough to turn
Hi Landy and all, I have a 710M Austrian Pinz and had little trouble so far. Just discovered oil leaking from the bottom of my steering column and a small slow stream of oil coming somewhere from the back of it, where I cannot see. I am sure that it is not the clutch or brake leaking, as they are dr...

Re: Speedometer issue
Jim LaGuardia, I wonder if you could provide me with some info for the Speedometer. I am contacting someone about an electric power steering device, but he requests the type of signal: Is it voltage and if yes how much. If it is a frequency what type of Hz is it giving off, the signal will be used t...

Re: Starter Button - Inside Look
Hey Krick3tt, Funny I was just looking this up to see if I could get cheap Pinzgauers from the Yugoslave army, who also uses them still, as Austria does. Saw a certain Mr Roman at: http://www.real4x4forums.com/PinzgauerBBS/viewtopic.php?t=2567 who said they were for sale for 2500 euro's = $3000. Now...

Re: Starter Button - Inside Look
Whoa... Sorry gents, but I realized that the switches must also be a momentary connection, but if you google "DPST momentary push button switch high Amp, there are opportunities, then again you could also use the low Amp but pretty start button to switch a heavy duty car relay I found a 20 Amp ...

Re: Starter Button - Inside Look
Gents, I looked at the electric schematic at the start-button and it is a simple switch, 3 leads with no connection until pushed; then all 3 connect I could be wrong, but I thought that any high-amp DPST push-button-switch would do... You just short the two sides of the two arms = connection-01 and ...

Manual info from factory
Gents,
Some of you might know this site, but if you need to analyse Pinzgauer-parts, part-number and price, then have a look at http://WWW.PUCH.AT
Pretty sure you could print out their pictures too
Good luck
Jules

Re: Backup sensor experience?
Hi I installed a 24V to 12 V convertor and ran my back-up sensor from that (around $60). Had a small screen: 2 x 2 inch, showing how much space was left (no camera, just lines showing) and auditive warning. Great fun when you were at a traffic-light and saw the car behind you 'approach' the Pinz. W...

Hi Steve, I tipped my 710M some time ago and completely rebuild the top. Basically a powdercoated metal frame with 4 mm Aluminium cover. I did not want anybody slicing their knife through the canvas to check the inside out. Unfortunatly I cannot load pictures right now... Maybe when I get home... Th...

Hi DokaTD, Sorry for this late answer - work work... I admit I have not tried this, but I seem to remember reading somewhere that the Pinz had to be standing still, before shifting from Low to High gear, or from HI to LO ) ( I guess because the clutch only affects the gears in the transmission-gear-...

Differential and gearbox breathers
I keep reading about differential and gearbox breathers. Do we have these on the Pinz ? I did read about it on the German Forum, but little on this 4x4 forum. Neither did I read anything in the original German Service-book. IF there are breathers, are they just short stub-valves ? or could you attac...
