Re: Trailering a 710?

ChickenPinz You're not going to have much choice for a trailer, it should be 7000lbs and must have brakes on at least one axle. I would not use a FJ as a long distance tow vehicle. Even that it's within factory parameters, it is on the small size and light and the brakes are adequate only for the ve...

Re: Buying this monstrosity...1983 Pinzgauer

My personal opinion would be to buy a somewhat stock Pinzgauer if you wanted community support. I would have hoped that if the OP did buy this vehicle even though it is not liked, the "community" would offer as much support as is possible to support the OP and his vehicle. Pretty poor form not to o...

A red head step child. The only support would be from the original Dr Frankenstein that made it.

Even for being RHD, I am surprised this hasn't sold. Especially since Americans don't have a problem buying LRs in RHD.

Re: No Brake Lights

In recollection of a conversion I did 19 years ago on my 710 and 712 and before SAV had written instructions... This is for Swiss Pinzes only, as Austrian trucks are different. Remove the power lead going from the brake master cylinder to the column indicator switch. Under the dash, remove the pink ...

Re: Looking for Pinzgauers Owners in Minnesota

I am not denying the installation of the M14 engine as a re-power in a Pinz , it cannot be considered a new manufactured vehicle.
I had gotten word years ago SDP having installed a M14 (or M16?) into a 718. Anyway you look at it, a customized vehicle and not a production vehicle.

Re: Looking for Pinzgauers Owners in Minnesota

Joeri You are confusing the manufacturer with aftermarket fabrication/customizing companies. There has been several people doing re-power work/upgrades on Pinzgauers. SGB is a fabricator not an auto manufacturer. As ATL/BAE closed their doors in 2009, the only possibility of a NEW manufactured Pinz ...

Re: Looking for Pinzgauers Owners in Minnesota

</s>There is a big difference between the 710 s and the ones the uk used pinzgauer.....as they never used anny petrol pinzgauers, they had the later TD pinzgauers (716M / 716 Mk and 718 ) with the 2.5 TDI engines. They are the upgraded version of the petrol ones, but for me driving off road the 710...

Re: Pinz

Hey Dan, with money, anything is possible . The thing with TDs is that the dash are handed left and right. believe it or not. RHD 716/18 have a vent dash which the LHD do not( larger dash on the right side than left). The molded glove box is also handed. Steering gear is handed as there is als...

Re: For Sale: 1990 P90 718MW Diesel 6x6 OR registered

Will, The 240v would be for "shore" power and is the typical voltage in the UK, like 110v is in the US. The in/out sockets might be able to be change to US type plugs, if the wire gauge is suitable. In my Vampire, shore power is used for an aircon dehumidifier while the truck was in depot to keep th...

FYI, The parking brake discs w/ lining is a 710 part #, as are most parts of the parking brake of the 716/18.

Re: Questions - new to Pinzgauer - about to maybe purchase 710K

Judah, In the last 20 years I’ve owned one of each series of Pinzes and had a P80 716 for 10 years and the last 5 years a ATL 718k w/2.5l TDI. Without a doubt I can say the TDs are far more user friendly and easily can exceed 75 mph. Driving at that speed for long distances will wear gears and beari...

Re: Jerry Can Holder Rear?

Those are the brackets to store the longitudinal bars of the softtop. The Pinzes were designed with onboard storage for all the hardware and canvas when not in place.
