Re: 712AMB Cab cover

The link you saw for the DIY top was mine. I made that top over 15 years ago and it was still going strong 10 years latter when I sold the 716. All you need is basic kindergarten skill to cut and fold material and glue it together ( without tasting the glue  ). The glue has very specific instr...

Re: Blowing starter solenoids???please help

A volt meter will give you a voltage, but once a load is added, any shorts within the batteries or a loose connection will raise their ugly faces, :( . Unfortunately, my TDI 718K has dual voltages and has entirely different characteristics with low battery voltage (which I thought I knew  ) It...

Re: Blowing starter solenoids???please help

Before doing anything else, check voltage on both batteries. Your charging might have finished off a questionable battery. A 'clicking' solenoid is a quick indicator of low battery voltage. Check before attempting to start it and again after trying to cranking it.

Re: 712 M For sale

Congratulations. I’ve known Mark and the previous owner of that Pinz since 2005. Though I haven’t seen that one personally, Both are meticulous on the care of their vehicles.

Re: 716K P80 needs a home

The hydraulic winch/ accessory power tap was a hideous setup. A continuous running power steering power with a bypass relay to pump the fluid back into the reservoir. My 716K was grossly overweight when in service. When I gutted the system, the front suspension went up by an 1". This white truck loo...

Re: 716K P80 needs a home

Well Vince, that 716K has all the earmarks of an ex-Swedish municipal 716K. If was a 12v truck, you could be sure. Where the Pinz is in Russia is only a short hop from Sweden... not anything like the ride across the pond.

Re: Looking for pop-out air vents

Well, I grabbed the vent page from the 716/18 parts manual with the TD pn  Pinz vent.jpg And in my collection of pics, the vent on GG  These vents were used quite a bit on the old Series Land Rovers. What makes them unique is that don't protrude beyond the face of the flange in the cl...

Come ' on Dan, think of yourself as an ex-pat that's used to driving left hookers on the continent.
And not a full lefty, as they all had auto boxes, so no syncing your left arm with your left leg.

An importable 716MK TDI for Canada

An importable TDI Pinz for the Canadians :D TDI 716MK's have been released by MoD for years, but this is the earliest manu year that I've seen (2004). And is just eligible for Canadian import. The only kicker is it's RHD, but if you waiting for a LHD TDI 716, don't bother, there were none made and o...

Adding the pic in the normal way didn't work for me, but it works when you click on the "place inline" button.

Re: 712 M For sale

Hi Mark, I'm surprised this hasn't sold, knowing how you and the previous owner take care of your vehicles. For additional pics, focus more on the Techno top (inside and out), as few people have ever seen one, or even know what it is. After that, pics of anything out of the ordinary. Do you have any...

Re: Locker indicator panel resturation

Thought
this would be a quick fix but as usual there are challenges.
The hardest part was removing the rivets on the data plates :x
Nice job Ron, but the rivets grind off from the back without any problem.

But now that you're retired, time doesn't matter.
