Carburetor top bolt hole thread fix

I am looking for a Helicoil M5 x 0.9 to fix a loss of threads for one of the carburetor top bolt holes.

I can source M5 x 0.8 from many suppliers/manufacturers but not the 0.9 pitch.

Can any one tell me where I can obtain this elusive item?

Thank you.

Re: SDP Pinzgauer site

I have tried on and off for a number of weeks and I was redirected to another website after getting the SDP home page for a few seconds.

Yes, it is accessible today.

Thank you.

Needle Valve replacement option ?

I know that Swiss Army has the Needle Valve in stock but I was wondering if any one knows of an alternative/cross ref match maybe from Porsche ?

Looking for a local source vs. waiting for UPS delivery.

Death of a Pinzgauer owner in Minnesota

I am sorry to pass this on but a local new channel (KSTP) reported that Charles Hanson from Eagan Minnesota and his wife were murdered yesterday 8/11. The person causing their deaths then committed suicide. I thought that the group should know that one of our members is gone. Mr Hanson was the owner...

I understand the reasons to stay with the OEM fuel pump, but at the time my lower pump housing badly leaked oil from the hole under the pump membrane and the pump lever axle. The pump was rebuilt and had a new “axle” installed and was repacked with heavy grease and it still leaked oil badly. I poste...

I got back from a search Monday and saw everyone’s responses. Jim again thank you for your wealth of knowledge on Pinzgauers. I looked for the fuel system PSI specs and could not find it. I installed a pressure regulator that kpoling suggested and the dripping has stopped. I now have one last drivab...

Baffling Carb problem and need help !

Fellow Pinzgauer owners, I have a carburetor problem that has me baffled and our Search and Rescue support truck down at this time. A few years ago I had the carbs rebuilt and all was fine except for the fact that we discovered that the throttle shafts were going to need to be replaced and every so ...

If one wants to replace the OEM heater in a K I can help.

I was able to rewire the current relays so it runs with the original controls.

Other mods were also required, that I could help with but I am sorry to say that an install from scratch....sorry.

Looking for Pinzgauers Owners in Minnesota

Hello, I know some of the owners of Pinzgauers in Minnesota but I recently saw a new one in the Minneapolis area and with so few of us in MN I wanted to get a thread out there so that we could discuss local solutions and get together some time. Please post your truck and or email me and I will pass ...

This is just an FYI.

I have a '71 710K (the 134th truck off the line that year) and the Aux heater fuel line was attached to a "T" just before the fuel pump.

My fuel tank only has one pickup tube.

I have found a number of minor changes to '72 and newer 710Ks.

Denis, 2 years ago I had to pull the t-case because of a bad bearing. When I separated the rear differential with the extension/spacer from the t-case I had a lot of oil coming out of the extension/spacer case (I mean a lot !). We though that it could have been a questionable seal on the t-case bear...

2/. Between 1967 – 1990 there were 20,195 Pinzgauers built
I was told that production started in 1971 and that anything before that was a prototype.

Is this true ?

If not, do they look any different?
