Re: CV Boot Question
I've received new boots (not new old stock, brand new special built) from Tatanka.
They use rubber as the original ones but are much thicker.
I have yet to put them on 8-/

Re: Volvo C-series/Land Rover brake parts cross-over numbers
It's the "glow in the dark" engine (exhaust manifold), especially if ignition timing is not perfect.

Re: Shock absorbers
I had Procomp (ES9000) on my former Defender 90 300tdi. They were cheap and OK on roads but not on tracks. As soon as they get hot, they're useless. And they get hot quickly. I sold the 90", bought a Range Rover Classic (softdash 300tdi) and did not made the same mistake. I used Bilstein B6. No...

Re: Part/Brand suggestions please! Need your help.
Hi. I thought the 164 had B30 (and B30E and B30F), not B30A. The difference, I thought, was the camshaft: the B30A (for TGB/C30x) had a special one to give lower power but a more flat torque curve. However, VolvoPedia or the 164Club (among other sites) disagree with me (looks like I'm definitively w...

Re: Fuel Injection Patton style
That's what I was afraid of, changes in the GM ECM depending on whatever reason. Looks like I'm stuck with waiting till I get mine to know what to order. Have you ever had a look at the ECM addons from DynamicEFI? It seems to bring new features (such as bigger maps) to the GM ECM and especially flas...

Burner2 was on the short list (if no universal burner could be used). With such an adaptor? http://www.moates.net/gp1-package-gm-adapter-with-2-chips-p-41.html Or that kind? http://www.moates.net/gx-switching-adapter-for-28pin-sockets-p-87.html http://www.moates.net/g2x-tbitype-switching-adapter-p-8...

Never heard of the Derale PWM controller, not sure I can find it in Europe 8-/
Do you have any picture of the way you setup the coolant probe (T on the hose?)?

Re: C303 Electric fan conversion
I guess it means the GM ECM can not control the fan?

Re: Fuel Injection Patton style
Rick confirmed he can not modify the Bosch distributor. So it'll be 123ignition too (already have mine, was working perfectly). He also checked with the injection guys, they can add the real "flex fuel" feature to the harness. The option uses a genuine GM flex-fuel sensor, hence its price ...

Re: Fuel Injection Patton style
Rick said he could not modify a C303 genuine distributor (Bosch-based and not Lucas-based), I'll double check that with him.
I have to dig a bit more about that coax...
The IAC is not mandatory, as far as I remember (no AT nor AC).
What does it bring?

Re: Fuel Injection Patton style
Hello. I have a zillion questions! 8) I'm currently talking with Rick about a kit for my Vattenfall (and Claes for parts and Martin/Tiagra for brakes). Things are eventually moving after letting the truck in a barn for several years. One of the question is the ability for the ECM to handle E85 (Etha...

LPG is on my next year todo (Q1 if everything goes well). The B30 engine runs very well on LPG, lots of 164 were LPG equiped. V8 conversion will bring you still an high mileage and it will be very difficult to achieve (connecting the engine to the transfert box). You should try to contact people in ...
