Seems like this would explain it:

"I am selling this truck for my 93 year old father who no longer uses it."

Maybe I'm just stereotypical, but I'm betting Dad is the one who lives in Miami.

Either way you should move all your cars so you get a multi-car discount.

Garage? Mileage limits? You must be talking about full-coverage insurance. IMO a waste of money unless your Pinz is really nice and you drive in traffic a lot - I get liability/uninsured motorist only.

I've had no problem insuring it with State Farm, in California. Liability only, of course, but otherwise it's about the same as any other second vehicle. The Haflinger is insured there too.

Mainly you have to find a good agent.

Improvements

The best improvements I've made to my stock 710M: -Replace Malloya tires with BFG All-terrains. -Driveshaft refurb/balance (long story, but the stock Pinz driveshaft is a strange beast) -Pertronix ignition -Civilian cap/wires/plugs -Gas tank cage But my favorite "mod" was removing the door...

Thanks Jim! I'm just glad it works, tho I'm not quite sure what I did right. FYI pics are here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/justfred/tags/haflinger/ The carb is a Weber, not sure the type: http://www.flickr.com/photos/justfred/4319664633/sizes/l/ I'm going to at least need to fabricate a top gasket.

I pulled the coil-diz wire, it had continuity but also a short, or at least a bit of exposed wire. Cleaned, trimmed, reinstalled. Per Jim my spare Pinz wires will work if needed. Still won't start. Popped the top off the carb. It's a Weber 1 barrel. Floats look fine, not a lot of gunk inside, didn't...

Thanks, David. True, I will have some spare wires left over, will try that when I get them back (Pinz is with Jim L at the moment). Electric fuel pump, pumping away, I loosened the connect at the carb and fuel was there. I haven't popped open the carb, but will try that next; spraying starter down t...

Ignition System Options?

All, (already have this question in to Jim) My (newly registered and drivable) Haf is having a problem starting. In the morning, I half-choke it, and it catches, runs for 10 seconds, then quits, and I can't get it to catch again. I tried starter spray, and it still doesn't catch, so I'm thinking ele...

Starter: A couple of whacks with a hammer and it's happy again. Need to start driving it weekly, if not more so.

Starter solenoid and stuff

(Several part message) Chock it: I learned again - not the hard way, fortunately - that when I remove the doghouse it tends to disengage the parking brake. My driveway is on a slope; fortunately I had wheel chocks in place, but the lurch gives me a pretty good scare, especially since I'm in the pass...

I've owned a lot of Land Rovers

The first Land Rover I bought started with a stuck choke, and wouldn't get higher than 2nd gear; I drove it across the urban jungle of Los Angeles (Venice to Claremont, on surface streets) at 15-35 miles an hour, having to push start it every few blocks. But, it made it. I then rebuilt the transmiss...
