Body corrosion

Guys I suppose it was time! Instead of looking at rust patches previously repaired /patched by the Swiss mil on some rigs, we got busy with a die grinder and cut out the bed as it is formed over the chassis bed rails. The real culprit is road water washed up by the rear road wheels which is forced b...

Re: Oil Pump in C303 > ?

Sorry Guys
Just had a mooch on this site.
Yes in fact they are all the same, available from Napa but you will have to change the suction pipe--its just pressed in anyway so some care needed to R'n R it.

Re: Transfer case lube

As for yellow metals in T/cases. Early units did have yellow metal synchro baulking rings for Hi/Lo shift synchronization. Later transfer cases (somewhere after 1974) and superceeded replacement parts were in sintered iron. Using GL5 in this application will have no detrimental effect, since shiftin...

I think I will start a new post on tire size and another one on changing out the stock motor for something else  [/quote]

Oh please not another! That subject has been beaten to death over the years!

Re: Problems w/ Bumping Up AMP's...

Guys For info there is a Bosch 50A 24v integral alternator that will fit directly into the cowl/fan housing. I have fitted several with the desired results! Some rewiring is required to eliminate the older regulator box and get rid of the molex connector found on the engine tin cooling capsule. For ...

Re: Slow Warm Engine Cranking/Start

Question Who rebuilt the starter?--Was the armature checked for insulation on a growler? If you have Optimas --an AGM battery in ther words, they don't respond to normal style battery style charging so you need an AGM compatible charger or you can do this:- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Slqd73ZOQvI...

Regular flooded wet cells or AGM's like Optimas?

Re: no VIN #

Guys I was browsing and glancing over this post, I suppose its worthy of a mention. In Colorado you will have no problem with Jerry's Emissions--BUT he doesn't do adjustments only testing. If the rig is made after 1981 it has to be tested by the state monopoly and a whole set of different regulation...

I saw the 1981 Pinzgauer when SAV had it.It was a real nice pinz. Before it went to colorado any ways may not have been after it was worked on? It would have been a steal for someone in Kansas. Not sure why the owner never tried to sell it him self? Eric I am not sure of what 712 you are referring ...
