I have the Griphoist Tirfor T516 and it is rated at 4,000Lbs Dead Lift. The Pull capacity is 5,500Lbs
It costs just a little over $1000.00 and it is the mid sized unit.

Re: Winch ideas: Come-A-Long
I have a Tirfor and swear by it for function and diversity of use. The product you’re looking at troubles me due to the design, it looks too short, and a lot of energy in cranking on it will be lost with the winch twisting as you apply force especially with the synthetic rope. Now with enough pulley...

Interesting but I really like the strap-on wheel step as a concept that needs further development for my particular needs.

Re: Miles Pinz Restoration Progress (pic heavy-milestone thr
The added bumper nose is welded between the mounting bolts so it is very solid, enough for me to stand on it with no problems, while leaving the ends of the bumper to be weak enough to bend without bending the other parts of the frame and body. Let the bumper do what it was designed to do, when you ...

I got the bumper fabrication finished but still need to add paint, used 3"x 1.5" rectangular tubing with a notch and bend construction. The bumper with the lights mounted. https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-KHHyZ05Uvb4/USAqOPHzSmI/AAAAAAAAFUQ/MjPM_VElcOI/s640/BumperMod01.JPG The whole light array ca...

SOLD - Esperia Digital Radio DC 12v – 24v Made for Komatsu
Bought this to put into the Pinz but have changed my mind and won't have a radio installed. It is a basic radio, 12v or 24v, intended for use in harsh enviroments,it is dust and water resistant with no CD or Tape to allow dirt to get inside the face plate. No installation instructions but the wiring...

Okay so it's been quite a while since I've updated this thread, Since the last update I've Added structure to the interior of the hard top and insulated it. I have also completed the Roof Rack except for paint. Just the bare metal structure. https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-vbrSAUaU_fE/UP27AO3jb9I...

Don't see why this concept couldn't be adapted to a Pinz. This may have to be my next project in 5 years or so.

Getting back on subject of gas grades, does altitude affect the choice of gas grade for high altitude driving?

Re: 712 rear door problem
To remove the panel twist the handle from the inside while pulling the panel from the inside, assuming the outside handle and knob are removed.
A spring may want to pop loose so beware and keep an eye open.

Re: Gas heater info
Looks like a Benmar Made for the US Military back in the 70's but there were other manufactures that made a similar unit.
