The top plug ( the one with the lift ring on the top surface) is actually an inspection hole.

When the neoprene strips get installed after final paint they will not rattle at all, a very snug fit.

If someone really wants the gas they can simply punch a hole in the can or cut the metal strap.

How I flushed out the pipes. Step 1. I picked up some 1/16 wire cable from a hardware store and attached a .22 cal brass bore brush to the end. I cut the bore brush down to about 1/2" long so it wouldn't bind up in tight turns in the pipes. Step 2. Feed the line thru the pipe and pull the bore brush...

Yes I went through the same thing and that is what happens to brake fluide after sitting for a decade in a unused system. The entire piping system will have that solidified brake fluid in it, I flushed out my whole system, brake lines and hydraulic lines.

So jerry Can Holders are expensive but can be made fairly easily with a few simple tools. Tools used: Heavy Vise, Heavy Hammer, Cutoff Tool and a Welder Materials used: 1.5" x .125" Steel flat stock Count on a 20' stick per Holder, 2" U channel (purchased from Home Depot), 5/16" rod and some Scrap ....

I don't see any reason you could not do this, I have considered it myself. The motor is no problem, an adaptor can be made and it's not like the original motors produced high horsepower. The problem is the cost of batteries, standard car batteries are to heavy and bulky and Lithium Ion is too expens...

Don't know if this would be applicable in this case but whenever I have to deal with O-rings I use good old fashion Petroleum Jelly. It is sticky enough to temporarily hold it in place while providing some lubricant to keep it from twisting while installing the two parts together. Like I said don't ...

A bore scope is the way to go before pulling the front diff assembly, just remove the top plug with the ring on it and inspect with the bore scope first. Best investment in a tool I ever made.

The tins were only meant to channel the air; retaining or dissipating heat really was not an issue, so Powder Coat away.
