When in 6x6 or 4x4 the Pinz has no central differential so any difference in rolling circumference of front and back axles will wind up the transmission. As a vehicle corners there will also be a difference but off road this is scrubbed off by tyre slip. So no you shouldn’t run different tyres front...

Mine always pulls to one side badly if one of the drums is wet, here in the UK driving on the left, the left front bears the brunt of roadside puddles, when trying to stop quick after this it will pull right as the right drum is dry and brakes better. The Icelandic Pinz is lifted, with the whole body including suspension mounts raised. That size of wheel / tyre is pretty normal in Iceland for anyone who wants to venture up on the snow on the glaciers.

Denis the total distance driven, including driving from Edinburgh to the north of Scotland to catch the ferry, was 2629 KM. We averaged 5.39 Km per litre which is 18.55 l per 100 km pretty much what we expected. Sleeping in the truck kept the cost down. The price of fuel is much the same as here in ...

Where I can I do my own work, but I'm no auto engineer so often I have to use a garage to carry out work, also things like oil changes which I would be able to do require handling lots of oil and dissposing of old oil so I use the garage for that too!

From what I understand the ONLY reason to get a civi conversion is to save money and make spares easier to obtain. It does NOT improve the ignition at all, in fact the military system is better.

Heat Exchanger

I have a hole in my heat exchanger and need some advise. I will hopefully soon replace the whole system with a custom stainless steel one. Does the heat exchanger come off the exhaust pipes or is it part of the system. Can the cover be taken off the exchanger and repaired / replaced. What is the exc...
