Found the problem
Replaced fuel line from tank to filter solved cranking without starting issue. Someone then told me to add a quart of automatic transmission fluid to full tank of gas. Is this helpful or will it cause more problems. I appreciate your opinions. Zig

Fuel pump replacement
I will be replacing the fuel pump. I am not a mechanic and was wondering if I should tackle this myself. I need to replace the base gasket if I'm not mistaken as well. Any imput is appreciated. Mark

Re: Fuel gauge not working
Yes, there was a post regarding this issue some time ago with a pic of someone who fixed theirs by placing a 6 or 7 inch long ground wire from the top of the sending unit to one of the screws on the cover above it. Hope this makes sense.

Fuel gauge not working
My fuel gauge is shot. I tried to fix problem by placing ground wire from sending unit to frame but no change. What parts do I need to purchase. Thank you for your responses. Zig

engine cranks for a long time before starting
The carbs have been rebuilt and sync'd, a new gear reduction starter placed and solid state ignition, but she takes a while to start.....could it be the sending unit or fuel pump.

Low idle, almost stalling
Dumb question, but is there a way to adjust gas cable to adjust idle or do I have to adjust the carbs. If carb adjustment is needed, what screw needs adjusting. If I could tighten the gas cable a hair, it would idle perfect. Thank you. Zig

Drain your gas panks!!!
Three months ago I had my carbs rebuilt by a reputable mechanic in the area, He told me that I had almost 5 gallons of water in my gas tank and he had no idea how the truck was even running....Just figured I'd let everyone know. Use that drain plug and check it out. Zig

royal purple or amsoil oil filters
Will either of these two oil filters fit on the pinz (1974). I've always used a Wix but when you cut into these filters, you can really see a difference in the quality of the two. Thank you.
