Re: New winter rims and tires

Since Trail Ready is located in the town I live in I will post what I know. They are very nice wheels. Their wheels are available in the 5x160 pattern to bolt onto a standard 710/712 drum brake setup. They are wide - I measured one an it is 9.5 inches from the outside edge on the front to the outsid...

Re: Smaller steering wheel with power steering?

Well - the steering wheel I ordered doesn't quite fit - the splines are the same but the diameter is slightly larger so the wheel can just spin slightly. Nobody I've asked can find one that works - even though the steering column shaft is identical to one that the USA manufacturer EATON / Char-Lynn ...

Dubai of course... looks more like a locomotive. Wonder if there is a Tatra or MAN drivetrain under it.

Re: New winter rims and tires

There actually isn't "DOT approved" wheels - they (DOT) don't inspect, test, approve - they just write standards which give the requirements for wheels. The standards don't specifically object to bead lock wheels - they just don't describe them in the standard, so they can't be listed as m...

Is there enough length to re-flare the end?

Re: Reduced Price - Aluminum 5 Bar Rear Top For Sale - $1000

Yes - Andre has the top now and the separate matching 5x6 foot sheet of 5 bar aluminum for making the front cab cover.

Andre can also make a nice set of hinged or sliding removable sides to have a completely secure but open-able 710m Pinzgauer - better than a K version when hot weather hits!

Re: Splitting Axle

It is possible to separate the outer half of the axle without the factory tool - it depends how well it was glued together with blue loctite when it was assembled. The challenge is not putting too much force on the back side of the brake casting which is thinner and more apt to be damaged. Putting i...

Re: Smaller steering wheel with power steering?

I believe I've found a tractor which has the same steering column shaft as the 710/712 Pinzgauers - here is the drawing which I compared to the original: Pinz Compatible Steering Shaft.jpg All of the dimensions appear to be an exact match - even the metric nut and taper on the shaft. There are new 1...

Re: John Deere, HMMV or Land Rover Hitch Receiver options

The 2" square hole (called a receiver in the US) allows for a variety of attachments - tow bars, baskets, bike racks and recovery shackles. In the US there are different size tow balls depending on the weight of the trailer - so being able to swap them easily is important. There are even tow ba...

Re: WTB - Pinzgauer 6.5J x 16 H2 Steel Wheels

The air cooled pinzgauer wheels (and the ford transit wheels) will not fit on a g-wagen as it uses 5x130mm pattern not the 5x160mm pattern of the early Pinzgauers. The later Diesel Pinzgauer's wheels will fit on g-wages but the deep backspacing might be an issue. You should also consider the 2002-20...
