Re: history channel pinz
Along the same lines....arnotts shapes are currently running a TV ad campaign in Australia that features a few Pinzgauers as well as some other mil gear. Although I think the shot below is of one 710 that's been reproduced nine times and put into one image.

Re: POLY CV Boots
When I shipped my Volvo I got the dealer to put 2 boots in the glove box because I knew this was a spare I would likely need sooner rather than later, they are genuine Volvo boots so I suppose they are NOS...he got them from Tantaka on my behalf. Now that I'm aware of how commonly these boots are fa...

Re: Will this spring tool work with Pinz?
Yeah I did a search a little while back and there are some good photos of Jim's tool and some relavent info needed like the length the compressor needs to compress to to remove the springs etc. I wouldn't say that what I found were "plans" or a template as such but definitely good enough p...

Re: How does the starter switch circuit work + more question
I had a quick look and found my old key switch which I'd stored in the bag with Mercedes label that my new switch came in. Pt. No. On the label is different than the pt. No. the back of the key switch, which BTW is a Bosch unit. Label pt. No. A 000 545 30 13, I typed it in and quickly found quite a ...

Re: How does the starter switch circuit work + more question
In regard to the expensive original key switch it is a Mercedes part. I recognized it from an old truck we used to have at work. When mine failed it started getting so hot it would heat the key right up, (this was with headlights switched on). To replace it I used the Merc parts supplier that our wo...

Re: Interesting 718
There's a 716 (VAB) in that body style for sale ATM down in Australia. I believe its owner Ty is a member here.
A rare find down here, I wonder how such a new Pinz found itself in OZ?

Re: Parabolic springs anyone?
This morning I received an email that I was copied into, it was sent to Paul at Heystee. It read... "I would like a set (maybe 2), here in California USA. I am not really into the idea of buying the design and going to find somewhere to get them done" that's the entire message. About an ho...

Re: Parabolic springs anyone?
My enquiry with Paul/Heystee back then was for a 6x6 which only requires fronts ( rears are already parabolic as standard) so it would be fair to assume this is all he was referring to when he told me that they will work in a Volvo I agree that trying to fit 101FC rears to the rear of a Volvo wouldn...

Re: Parabolic springs anyone?
On a side note when I originally contacted Paul at Heystee in February this year he said that because he no longer had stock of Volvo springs that as an alternative I should keep an eye out for some 101FC springs because these would also fit and be suitable for the Volvo's. BUT although he knew of p...

Re: Parabolic springs anyone?
I contacted Paul from heystee and got a reply.... Hi Warren, Thank you for your email. Front and rear are the same so sets are rather pairs. The minimum production quantity is around 40 to 50 springs = 20 to 25 pairs. At this moment I am talking with someone who is interested having a production run...

Re: Parabolic springs anyone?
Hi Hoss I'm interested if this is still a possibility as would my friend Warren so 2 sets for Australia Cheers Nick Hi Nick, as we both have 6x6's we only need one set between us both, but our set needs to consist of two front axle pairs. So I think I would be correct in saying that's one set for A...

Re: Highly modified 712
I found a bit more info on this 1KZ turbo powered (Prado) Russian built Pinz, pretty impressive build especially how they widened the body by 200mm (8 inches). https://www.drive2.com/l/7015584/?page=0 On some of his you tube vids you can see that his disc brake conversion appears to have widened his...

Re: Reborn as Curry-Pinz
Nice work!!! I must say its great to see another Malaysian Pinz resurrected from the abuse they took from the army. Whenever I look at photos online of the state many of them have been left in them it makes sad to think that these Pinzgauers appear to have been forgotten and left for dead......well ...
