Voltage Regulator
Okay. I have an idiot gauge in the truck that displays voltage at the 24V utility plug in the cab at the dash. It's actually a phone charger with a LED voltage display incorporated in it. Believe it or not it's pretty accurate! Against my fluke it is right in there within a 1/10 of a volt. Today I s...

Re: Extra wires? add on?
Wow!...…….….My luck! I also am curious of this wiring right now. No kidding. I have the old style dual sensor and all the connector ends are shot on wiring. The connector points on the dual sensors are fine. This all came up for me recently as I just did the brakes. Those old connections I had were ...

Re: Wheel cylinder bolts
Thanks for the replies.
It puts my mind at ease a bit.
I'm not an auto mechanic by trade. And I don't pretend to know everything. So glad this website exists for so many reasons
Probably time to donate $ again to the site on that note.

Wheel cylinder bolts
Okay...…….....maybe I deserve to be laughed at for this...….and I should have known better. I just renewed my brake system on my 712. Not every single aspect of it, but a lot of new parts. When I put it all back together I forgot to put Loctite on the bolts that secure the wheel cylinders. I should ...

Re: HELP Missing Screw for Axle Boot
Tjerk………..…...thanks for the input on this topic. I think the design engineers for this vehicle were amazing. Sometimes I ask myself "why did they do that?" though. The screws on these clamps were one of those moments. For the most part, I do my best to play by the design envisioned by the...

Re: Fan Nut Threading
I think the same Austrian military guy overtightened my fan nut too!!!!. Finally got it to break free using a cheater. I put a dab of never-seize on it since then and it isn't and issue now. Recently I had to take my fan off to get a rat nest out of the air space on top of the cylinders. Fn rats. Th...

Re: HELP Missing Screw for Axle Boot
It looks like S-Tec has this part in stock but if anyone on this continent (North America) has this laying around and can part with it, that would be great! Once again, I just need the screw. Not the entire clamp or turnbuckle. https://www.puch.at/en/spare-parts/pinzgauer-petrol-710-712/rear-axle/re...

Re: HELP Missing Screw for Axle Boot
Thanks everyone for the multitude of replies to my dilemma. I lost the screw that is on the clamp. There are two clamps. One large clamp and one small clamp. It is stainless steel this clamp. As is the screw. So no magnet is gonna find this thing for me. Trust me I thought of this already. In fact I...

HELP Missing Screw for Axle Boot
If anyone can assist me with this problem I've created I sure would appreciate it. In the process of replacing an axle boot on my 712 I somehow lost the "special" screw that fits in the clamp for the boot. I work on my truck in the dirt basically. Big wide open field. It's kinda nice excep...

Wheel cylinder shim
Question:
What purpose does the steel shim on the wheel cylinder serve? Why is it there?
Is it a necessary part?
I think one of my rear wheel cylinders was missing the shim and the other three rear cylinders had the shim in place. I'd have to pop the wheel off to check.

Thanks for the replies...……….truck stored outdoors...…...Florida. Brutal climate. Can't wait to get the truck situated some place where things don't rust away right in front of your eyes. 10mm hex key was already wanting to strip out the plug on the fuel tank...…...I don't own a hex socket set....bu...

I've had my 712 down for repairs for a couple of months. Doing the brakes, chipping and painting (lots of chipping and painting), and various other projects. I have not ran the motor in that entire time. Today I had everything assembled back on the motor that I had taken apart. Engaged the choke and...

712AMB Cab cover
Good day to everyone...…..okay...…..here is my situation....I would like to replace the cover for the cab on my 712AMB. It is an Austrian vehicle so the front part of the cover is held to the windshield frame by a captive track rather than the belt and loop fasteners on the Swiss version. The Swiss ...
