Re: Overdriving the transfer case?
Well, luckily 1st gear is a crawler. So after the gear change, 1st should behave something like 2nd pre-OD regear. After further investigation though, the design of the transfer case (two input gears, one output) will make this a challenge. Between my engineering experience and the gear vendor I'm w...

WTB: 710 transfer case
Looking to buy a working 710 transfer case for an overdrive project. Can do pickup if somewhat local to Houston or can arrange shipping. Let me know what you got! Thanks!

Re: CV AXLE
Yeah I think your largest concern will be torque after all the reduction in lo-range, but even still I don't think it will be a problem. The design window for this particular product was only for one side of a much lighter vehicle. Now, instead of one powering one wheel, you're using one for all 4 w...

Re: Overdriving the transfer case?
I saw the thread on adding an overdrive unit and of those who overdrove 4th gear. Neither of those appeal to me because it either adds another point of failure or affects it's operation offroad. After looking at some pictures of a t-case all torn down, it looks very doable! My only concern is having...

Overdriving the transfer case?
I know this may seem odd, but I have been trying to think of different ways to 'add overdrive' to the Pinz. After investigating the transmission and the direct drive of the 5th gear, it didn't look like a regear of 5th was possible. It has been discussed that you can regear 4th to be OD and shift 1-...

Re: Big smoke, big oil mess, big problem! Advice/confirmati
Ohhhhh please upload pics. I would love to see what that head looks like. I have a similar thing happen to my TW200... except someone down shifted at too high a speed and over revved it and bent up a valve and trashed the head... not related at all but I feel your pain of having a junk head.

Re: How to use transfer case
Even if it doesn't help me, it's there for the next person I just wanted to make sure that I was right in thinking that you can't go changing ranges with it in gear, clutch engaged... Which I don't even think it would if I tried!

Re: How to use transfer case
Well, that's what I figured, but following the nomenclature of the owner's manual, 'engage' the clutch means to not touch the clutch pedal... It's strange. I figured it was like you explained. Thank you David!

Re: How to use transfer case
I was just speaking on the transfer case. I know about the 4x4 and lockers. Unfortunately, I *might* not be able to fly out to California to check the thing out with Scott. Work has be moving around a lot and I don't want him having to store while I find a weekend I'm not busy... It all seems super ...

How to use transfer case
So, I will be picking up mt first Pinz from Scott near the end of July/beginning of August. In preparation I got a service manual and owners manual. When reading through the owners manual I did learn a few interesting things. Mostly that it's not like an 4x4 I've ever driven. Most of it made sense t...

Re: trade aftermarket front seats for original
Is there any definitive answer to which seats fit the 'best'. IE: Minimal work in adapting and sits nice and low? I haven't seen any that look bad, but everyone seems to do something different. I may be willing to give up some OEM seats here in a few weeks.

Re: power curve graph?
Ha! Just kidding, I found it.
For those who struggle with the French (and metric) PS is roughly equal to horsepower.
m/kp is kilopond meter and one of those is equal to about 7.23 ft*lbs.

Re: power curve graph?
It may just be the fact that I don't know french, but even with the aid of Google translate, I was unable to find the power graphs on that website. Is it under a certain section I may be missing? Thank you!

That and if a 2.7 could be posted as well, that'd be awesome.
