Re: Alignment of front axle/tyres on my 712 pinzgauer
I'd go back and check the front for wear... the upper spring cradle, bottom spring cup and the overall measurement of both front springs ( possible fatigue) , and the bottom cup pins. Unlikely, but sometime in the past, a pin was replaced with a different size or pin indented into a cup. Also, jack ...

Re: Slow cold starter
A volt meter will tell you the voltage but not the condition of the batteries. Back in the day, the simplest method to check a batteries in the vehicle was to put a load on them, and other than the starter, (seal beam) headlamps and the horn were the next heaviest user. Turning on the headlamps on a...

Rocky Mountain Westie Christoph Gut in Switzerland has built a unique Pinzgauer with extended chassis. He has used the tube extension of a 710 for a 712 https://pinzgauer.ch/assets/0000/4076/DSC015111747-0sw_thumb.jpg?1514499552 additional pics and the stories around can be found at https://pinzgau...

I would swear it was built by adding sheetmetal over an old Series LR
If you had a front view, it probably has a setback radiator!

Re: Pinz, only but a dream?
Azenix, Registering a pre '75 depends on CARB attitudes are that day. As for the actual registration, There are a couple different ways to register a Pinz in California. You can register them commercially, as Ron did, and you pay an additional $80 on a 710M/K and $231 for a 712M/K in weight fees, an...

Hello Steve The attached pdf are the electrical schematics for the 2.5 TDI Pinzes. Ain't your momma's Pinz! Be aware that there is a 12v tap in the battery box ( the bottom battery ). Makes sure all batteries are charged ( these are a dual voltage vehicle) and use battery disconnect when you'r...

Re: Pinz 718 vector
Hello Steve, and welcome to the forum. Your questions should be in the Diesel Pinzgauer electrical section. The Vector has very little in common with any other Pinz, except possibly the 2.5 TDI models which would probably be the starting point for the Vector's electrical, and added onto for Vector s...

Re: Custom door panels
Kydek is actually what is used on the FMTVs since the early '90s for door panels and the interior trim. Since I haven't owned a 710/12 since 2003 and TDs have plastic door panels, I've never weighed in on this before, but if you live in the southwest or anyplace you have extreme ambient temperatures...

Re: Soft top question...
This is one of those questions where you should stay in the TD section. First off there are 2 methods that retained the softtops on the 710/12 m's. Swiss and Austrian . The TD softtops would have been similar to the Austrian way. Without seeing pics of your top, but dealt with 2 TDs K ( and converti...

Well, congratulations! you own 1 of only 3 718K w 2.5TDI and LHD made by ATL (probably BAE by then ) And the last LHD factory Pinzgauer made. Mine was the 2nd to last. The 3rd 718K is somewhere in Europe.
