Re: Samlex DC-DC converter operation

Made a little progress on my converter install recently. I've got the main power run from the batteries using 8ga marine wire, with some braided sheathing over top. Overkill for a 20 amp converter I know, but I had it on hand, and if I ever need to bump up the converter size I should be good for ano...

Spare tire mounted backup light

I switched to Transit wheels and in doing so, I had to modify the spare tire mount a bit. I modified it a bit more this afternoon and mounted an extra LED flood light I had from a previous headache rack project I did for my Dad. Nothing too crazy, but these little guys are incredibly bright so it sh...

Re: 710m rear springs

Minor update to this conundrum. With the break in travel and spring snow storms, I was able to pull the rear springs on one side and dig a little deeper into why the rear is at the top of it's travel. The springs end up being approx 13.5" long so that must mean that they are in fact the two str...

Furthest from the master first, then ending at the closest is how I've always done it too.

I sourced a functional used one from the FB group...might want to try there?

Re: Anyone tried the Victron 24-12v converters?

The isolated ground Victron converter I have is supposed to work well with sensitive electronics, but I can't say for sure, as it's not even hooked up yet!

Re: 710m rear springs

Seems easy enough to overcome. Despite their shortcomings, the fact that someone offers an aftermarket shock is somewhat surprising to me, especially at the Doetsch Tech price point.

Keep the shaft mounted bumpstops? Yay or nay?

Re: 710m rear springs

Good call on swapping out the new with the old :) Those sleeves look severely inadequate for a hd rig like this. Do you'll run with the external bumpstop on these shocks? Not sure if these shocks were designed for a different application, then fitted to a Pinz with custom sleeves, but the external b...

Re: 710m rear springs

I still need to disassemble the rear suspension to see what I need to order as far as $pring cup$ go, but other items are beginning to roll in...like these new Doetsch Tech shocks! I can only imagine how much better the ride will be.

Re: 710m rear springs

Thanks for the insight Joeri. I double checked my springs this AM and everything is sitting square according to my eyecrometer so it looks like springs are the culprit. Looking forward to freshening up more on this pig. Spring is just around the corner and I fully intend to put it through it's paces.

Re: 710m rear springs

That's all great info, thanks again Ron. Mr Zero has a set that he's going to ship out for me to try and hopefully that's the issue. I'd rather not cut the taller springs, and increase the spring rate further, and then have to deal with shocks that can't handle it. On that note, I did order some Doe...
