He's a great guy and will be a welcome addition to the Pinzgauer community in San Diego I am sure.

"ITAD" (Improvised traction assistance devices). It was just too slick through some water we happened upon so we needed to "enhance" the surface and we used those tires and some branches.

Pinz owners in San Diego...I've got a new owner for you!

I spent the day with the new owner of my 712M showing him around the truck, answering questions and almost getting it stuck. Talk about a great team building exercise...getting a vehicle stuck that you just sold to a guy who flew in for the day just to learn all about it! http://i.imgur.com/t...

Re: My new Steyr! 1979 300GD G-wagen - with new winch bumper

Somehow I missed this one or it just came and went as I skimmed the forum.

I think what Vince (and Andre) assembled is precisely what I'd like to find for myself. Do the 2 door model and the 4 door versions have the same model designation?

Re: You guys know how much I love you...right?

I seldom reviewed the comments as they seemed to all take on this tone. Lots of experts with little or no actual hands on experience with the subject vehicles. As I said in response to one of the more cheeky comments, as we say here in Texas, "all hat, no cattle". If you have an opinion, i...

Re: I'm not thinking Arby's, I'm thinking G-Wagen...

That is actually the image I shared with my wife and kids last night and everyone liked the looks of it. (me too  ). Of course now the challenge is to find one that has been well tended to (like my 712) and isn't beat to $hit. I am just now starting this process so I don't need to find this t...

Re: Looking for a transporter (Houston to San Diego). Ideas

My guy is planning to line up an enclosed transporter...so clearly he wants to do this right and not cut corners.

Any thoughts on vendors for that grade of services folks?

Re: I'm not thinking Arby's, I'm thinking G-Wagen...

I won't consider one of those if I can't take it off road for fear of bending or scratching something. I live in a part of town where there are plenty of the foo foos and it's a real head scratcher to me as to why anyone would pay in excess of $100,000 for a truck that has its origins in military se...

I'm not thinking Arby's, I'm thinking G-Wagen...

With the 712 now sold, I'm thinking about a G-Wagen. If you squint just a little, it is part of the Pinzgauer family and has a lot of the same robust military service attributes. I know a number of folks who own several of them. Not the foo foo new $100K models but the older former military type uni...
