Hey, I'm back in town and will be here for a while. Have you passed through McCall yet? Somehow I doubt it if you're going 55mph from Denver. Check your pm for my number. Maybe some of the other local Pinz guys can join us for a beverage.

Lowes carries a flex double wall pipe close to the same size http://www.lowes.com/lowes/lkn?action=productDetail&productId=73503-41698-173004&lpage=none The Lowe's vent you linked to is Class B vent for gas water heaters and furnaces and should handle the heat. I think its rated to about 35...

Have a fun trip. Post some pictures from the road! Whitebird grade is still there and the snow will be sticking around McCall for a long time, but if I'm around I'll buy you a beer on the way through. I'm travelling a bunch at the moment so keep us posted.

I used the red spray-on stuff and one of the gaskets oozed out too. The stuff needs to be completely dry and you have to torque the covers down very carefully while feeling around the edge to make sure the gasket isn't getting squished unevenly.

It's out of your way, but I'm on the other side of Idaho. If you drove West to Boise and then up Hwy 55 to McCall, from there you could keep going up 95 to Sandpoint.

Re: difference in the drive ratios?

I think I read that the 712 topped out around 68mph and the 710 could go 70+MPH? "The light should come on around 68 MPH for a 6X6, and 72-74 MPH for a 4X4." Wow, driving my 710m with the needle buried to 110-115kph, I was told that I was only going about 65mph. The noise, gear whine, fan...

Is it working?

I installed the same SolarConverters battery equalizer a few weekends ago and was wondering how you know if it's working properly. I wired it in the sequence printed on the case and used the bottom wiring diagram from the website. http://www.solarconverters.com/product_frame.html There was a spark w...

Do a search for "snorkel" and I think you'll find the discussion.

No, I'm not 100% sure. When I moved to Switzerland they wanted to tax my bike upon entry and when I told them it was personal they said it was OK and didn't tax it. The Swiss customs wanted to know that I wasn't going to sell it there. Then when I moved back, the US wanted to tax some household item...

AFAIK, there isn't an import tax on something that is for personal use. If you were going to re-sell it then, there are taxes. There really isn't a difference between you going there and buying it and bringing it back from a tax standpoint. He should just be able to put it in a box and send it. That...

Carbuetor De-Icing

There's an interesting thread in the German Pinz forums about using Isopropyl alcholol to prevent de-icing. One of the guys went to the airport and asked what planes without carb heat do during the winter and it turns out they mix about .5% isopropyl alcholol into the fuel. Another guy chimed in tha...

Did you fabricate that rear system yourself? Does it incorporate a bumper, trailer hitch, spare tire carrier all in one? Thanks,

My door seals froze shut during the first few storms of the season and I bent a door handle, then I did the same thing as Denis and it seems to be working. I also sprayed silicone onto the seals themselves too.
