Ditto for me. A month ago it was running great, then 2 weeks ago it was running rough and wouldn't hold an idle, yesterday it was running great again and then when I pulled into the garage after driving around it wouldn't idle again. I was planning to rebuild the carbs during Xmas anyway, but I was ...

I was just looking at this one last night. It's expensive since it's from Switzerland, but it might give you ideas for the mount. I can't remember if SAV or EI make one too.

Have you checked Mcmaster.com for weatherstripping profiles? They have a lot of versions. Or, can the profile be used for another part of the Pinz? Would it be able to seal the area on an M where the top rolls over the metal body? I'd like to seal that up better and it would take a lot linear feet. ...

That's a good source. It's also fun to look at www.ebay.de or www.ebay.ch, which is ebay germany and ebay switzerland, and type in Pinzgauer. I haven't searched ebay austria yet. Right now there are some of the elusive warm weather door tops going for 99 euro each on the german one- and they're NOS.

This system looks more interesting to me- http://www.retrotekspeed.com/products/nostalgia-throttle-bodies/2x2-tb-kit/ They look like they'd be similar size to the carbs and could probably bolt to the existing intakes with a simple adapter plate. The system might gain a few mpg and get rid of the not...

Thanks Jim
I was wondering if that would work. Does it have to be grounded any differently? Can you add other 12v items this way too?

Timing Light with 24v
I was wondering how you guys hook up your timing lights to the 24v system. Mine is an Actron digital one and I don't want to burn it up. It looks like it isn't rated for 24v. Do you hook it up like normal? Do you have a spare battery or other 12v source? Thanks

Thanks
I also spoke to CWR a few months ago and was going to buy the tool when it was about $30. Patrick told me that the tool wasn't necessary and about the fuel level and that the tool could be made with some simple clear fuel line and a fitting. I have the fuel line, but no fitting. My rebuild kits shou...

This is the tool I'm looking to duplicate-
http://www.swissarmyvehicles.com/showde ... 053321010/
I found some good information about the fuel level in the bowl here-
http://www.356registry.org/Tech/zenith.html
Is this a common tool in Europe?

Did anyone figure this one out?
Did you ever figure out a source for a hollow M7 thread? Or, has anyone made their own float tool? I was going to find a tapered piece of plastic to push into some clear fuel line and thread into the carb. Maybe something high-tech like a pen cap? Also, I was told that the correct float level is eve...
