David,

Aren't the bulbs a bit dim on a 12V vehicle?
That's not the only problem with the Sankey - needs a bit of welding but at least it should fit behind the Pinz nicely!

I think 24V allows you to use thinner wire, as less current according to Ohm's law. Also gives you more grunt for the starter.

Just realised I'll need to change all the bulbs in my 12V Sankey trailer :x

Thanks, Dreadnought - there was a huge amount of play in the steering, which was apparent without the tyres moving at all so it needed adjusting out. Since doing it, the steering has been much better. That isn't your Pinz in the video, is it? If I were in that position I'd be thinking "Wish I h...

I'm a tightwad so don't like spending money unnecessarily! Next job is to find a cheap way of fitting disc brakes!

It's a loud "click" - the steering play adjuster is more or less at the end of travel. Where can I get kits from? Should probably top up the oil in it anyway

Worrying clunk from steering box

My steering box, which is leaking slightly, had a lot of play which I've adjusted out. However, I noticed that there is a loud "click" when I turn the wheel, which I think it coming from the steering box. The adjustment also seems to be at the end of its travel. Can the grub screw be repla...

The sender in mine is 330mm long but the tank is 450mm deep at that point, so thinking I could fit a longer sender, either 9 or 10 off this site (UK): https://www.europaspares.com/INSTRUMENTS/SENDERS_and_SENSORS/VDO_FUEL_SENDER___DIP_PIPE_5017.html I know the resistance might not be correct, but if ...

Dennis, Same here, I get a 6.5MΩ reading between the terminal and the body of the gauge, regardless of the float position. Taking the bottom plate off the gauge shows the thick wire (presume the resistive wire) and a very thin wire running up both sides - a guide wire? Not sure what would happen wer...

Fuel sender broken?

My fuel gauge wasn't working when I picked up the Pinz, but I knew with a full tank I'd get home OK, which I did! I shorted the purple sender wire to earth and the gauge reads full, which implies to me the gauge is working fine (using a slightly dodgy earth gives a less than full reading, which is g...

Thanks - just looked in the manual and it certainly looks easy. On a Land Rover this would take hours!*

* because it would all be siezed and you'd need to drop everything out to drill it

My new Pinz 710K

Got VERY lucky on eBay and landed a superb Pinz 710K for very little money: http://i277.photobucket.com/albums/kk76/richardspandit/Pinzgauer/P1010382.jpg The drive home was a little interesting as the brakes were not responsive and there's a lot of play in the steering, but managed not to hurt anyth...

Digital Pinzgauer repair manual?

Anyone know where I could buy a digital repair manual for my 710K? Don't really want a printed version as they tend to get filthy when referring to them, prefer being able to print out fresh copies of the job I'm about to do that can be recycled* afterwards

Drove my new Pinzgauer for the first time today and steering also sloppy. Is the steering box easy to adjust? Could anyone post a picture of what bits to turn?
